The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 925

Mya said, “Fred, don’t hit me. I won’t do it again. If you hit me, it’ll hurt me for a long time. I-I don’t want that.”

Mya clutched the curtain in the corner as she shivered. When Fred saw her lose her senses, a surge of inexplicable anger overwhelmed him. It made him feel frustrated.

Mya did not dare to speak. She just pressed herself tightly against the corner and said, “I’ll be obedient from now on.

“I’m stupid, forgive me.”

Mya did not dare to look at him. She did not even know why Fred was so angry. She did not want to be locked up in a small dark room again. She was terrified.

A loud sound was heard as the door slammed closed. Mya was startled. When she looked over, Fred was already gone.

She then timidly looked at the bed. Fred’s fierce expression earlier had caused her mind to suddenly flash back to images of her past abuse-a long whip lashed her body. The terrifying voice of threats that not obeying meant going hungry and enduring a beating echoed in her mind.

When Riley saw Fred walk out of the room, he followed him. Fred got into the car and said, “Go back to Ventropolis Prison.”

“Okay.”

An hour later, they arrived at the prison. Fred had a strong presence and exuded a hostile vibe as he walked through the dim corridor of the prison.

Riley was walking behind him. It had been a long time since he had seen Fred so angry. The last time Fred had been so angry was when he had been banished to oversee this prison a few years ago.

Fred forcefully kicked open the locked door without saying a word. This loud noise reverberated in the empty corridor, causing the lights on the prison walls to sway and flicker.

Inside the cell, Luke was covered in wounds. Just as he finally managed to fall asleep, the loud noise startled him awake.

He watched Fred, who looked terrifying, take a police baton from a prison guard and walk toward him. Luke kept fearfully moving back, “W- What do you want?!”

Fred looked down at Luke who was on the ground. His gaze was horrifying and eerily frightening. Half of his face was concealed in the darkness making him appear as if he was a devil from hell coming to claim lives.

He responded, “I want you dead!” These four words sealed Luke’s fate. The prison guards outside the cell knew there were not many who could stay conscious after provoking Fred to personally intervene.

In the prison, the screams in agony grew more intense, with each more miserable than the last. The echoes continued until the voice gradually weakened.

Fred finally finished venting his anger after over half an hour. His body was covered in blood. Fred’s gaze was chilling. It appeared that the prison guards were used to this kind of situation. One of them handed a clean handkerchief to Fred. Fred then took it and wiped his hands, saying, Clean up the mess.”

“Yes, sir.”

Not long after Fred left the prison, he received a call from the hospital. “It’s bad. Mr. Turner, you need to come to the hospital immediately! Ms. Harper… She…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
