The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 924

Fred’s sudden cold tone made him look terrifying. Mya stopped walking. She appeared weak and her face was pale. She looked wronged and afraid as she stared at Fred, “You’re a bad guy, just like Luke Graham. I don’t want to be friends with you anymore.”

Mya tried to run out in her hospital clothes. As soon as she opened the door, she was stopped by someone outside. Fred said, “Go back to bed, now.”

“I don’t want to listen to you! Let me go home!” Mya pouted. She looked like she was about to cry anytime soon, What are you going to do? Don’t come here! Don’t come near me. I hate you now.”

Mya ran to a corner to distance herself from him. She then grabbed a vase nearby to defend herself, “If you come closer, I’ll smash you with this!”

Fred merely took a step forward. And this triggered her defensive response. This was completely different from the behavior of his other female companions back in Ventropolis Prison who would always cling to him.

He said, “Put it down and come here obediently. I can forgive you for what you did.”

Mya frowned and looked angry. In Fred’s eyes, she was not a threat at all. He even saw her behavior as nothing more than her throwing a tantrum. She said, “Why should I listen to you? You aren’t my parents. You’re a bad guy, an old despicable man!

“I’m going to smash you!”

Mya threw the vase in anger. Fred tilted his head, and the vase flew past his ear before smashing against the wall behind him.

Fred responded, “As my pet, you should be obedient. Mya, is it because I’ve been too nice to you lately, so you dare to talk to me like this?”

Fred could allow Mya to act on a whim. But now, she actually dared to hurt him. No one had ever done that before.

Mya replied, “You’re the pet. Your whole family is pets.”

Fred disliked the disdainful look on Mya when she was looking at him now. She looked afraid and resistant to him. She continued saying, “I-I want to go home. Don’t stop me.”

As Mya ran past Fred, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and forcefully threw her onto the bed. A loud sound could then be heard.

Mya’s head hit the headboard. She then felt a pain. She covered her head and immediately burst into tears, “My head hurts!

“You hurt me. My head is going to have a big bump. I’m going to become stupid again.

“Mom… Fred Turner hurt me. He hurt me!”

Mya cried with her hands on her head. She was out of breath. Fred indeed did not hold back when he threw her. He had never cared when women cried, but this time, it made him feel uneasy.

“Enough. Stop crying.” His tone was threatening. Mya shivered in fear. Fred frowned and worriedly walked over to Mya, “Let me take a look.” As soon as he touched her hands that were still covering her head, she unexpectedly felt extremely resistant. She fearfully crawled off the bed and walked to a corner before crouching down. She held her head and did not dare to look up.

She said in a sobbing voice, “Don’t hit me. I won’t do it again…

“I’ll listen to you. I won’t do it again. I want to go home.”

Fred furrowed his eyebrows even tighter, “Mya Harper, I want you to stand up and stop crying.”

Mya was still crouching. She waved at him in fear, “Don’t hit me. I’ll stop crying, I’ll stop crying… I’ll wipe my tears away now.”

She then used the back of her hands to quickly wipe off her tears. Fred found Mya’s current state abnormal. He believed she looked like someone who had experienced psychological trauma.

He squinted his gloomy eyes and stared at Mya. He noticed her eyes were filled with timidity, compliance, and fear. She looked like a helpless pitiful person who had been bullied.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
