The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 807

However, Zach had promised her that he would not harm anyone from the Arnold family. Why would he lie to her?

With her limbs turning colder, Madelyn reluctantly contacted someone she did not want to deal with. The phone rang for a few seconds, and then it was connected.

“Are you looking for me?” Kai asked. He sounded very cautious. Madelyn panicked and quickly hung up the phone. Kai colluded with Zach, so Madelyn figured that she should not trust him as well.

Suddenly, Madelyn thought about something. She zoomed in on those pictures and quickly recognized the location. They were all taken near the sea around Ventropolis.

Madelyn had heard about a plane crash not long ago, but she had never expected Ethan to be on the plane. She immediately rushed out of the room with her phone as if she had lost her mind. She could not believe that Ethan’s death was real.

‘Why would Zach kill him? He already has everything he wants!

‘Ethan has done nothing to him. Zach is nothing but a heartless demon.’ Madelyn thought to herself. Margaret saw Madelyn rushing down the stairs frantically and said, “Ms. Jent, where are you going?”

Madelyn seemed as if she had not heard her and disappeared from her sight. Zach was at Nightfall of the Supreme World. He would rarely touch alcohol, but this time, he drank heavily…

He was alone in the private room, and Madelyn was the only reason he got himself drunk. Zach’s mind was in a mess. It was like he was trying to avoid everything he had done throughout the years. He had no idea why he did what he had done.

The door of the private room was pushed open. Then, Cecilia, whom Zach had not seen for some time and was dressed in a wine-red dress and high heels, stepped inside confidently. The lights in the room were dim, and there was an indescribable look on her face when she said, “I’ve never seen you in such a state before.”

She then sat down next to him, “Stop drinking! I know you’re very angry about what I did, but Zach, I can change for you. Will you stop acting like this, please?”

“Get out!” Zach yelled at her.

There were a lot of empty beer bottles and shards of glass on the floor. Cecilia looked at him affectionately as she caressed his face, “Why can’t you understand? I’m the woman who loves you the most. I’ve loved you for two lifetimes, but why won’t you love me back in this one?”

Cecilia could not figure out what went wrong. Everything had gone according to plan, just like in her past life. The Arnold family had fallen, and the Young family was on the brink of collapsing as well.

However, she just could not understand why Zach would still be so obsessed with Madelyn.

“Zach, can we just forget about her?”

Zach exuded a terrifying aura, yet Cecilia was unfazed. ‘Would he only turn back to me after Madelyn is dead?’ Cecilia thought to herself.

Suddenly, Cecilia wrapped her arm around Zach’s neck and started kissing him desperately as if trying to obtain something from his body. Zach pushed her away forcefully and gripped her throat, “Do you have a death wish?”

Cecilia endured the pain. Although she was already shedding tears, she told him anyway, “Zach, I love you! I’ve waited for you for so long. If you still don’t love me back, I’ll just die with you! In that way, you’ll never fall in love with anybody else ever again.”

Zach was not the only person who had gone mad. He was the person who gave her a glimmer of hope in the darkest time of her life.

He was the one who started everything. So how could he abandon her just like that?

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
