The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 808 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 808

Cecilia had gone insane! Her love for Zach had turned into a sickly obsession. They were born to be the same kind of people who would destroy anything that they could not have.

“…Did you spike my drink?” Zach frowned. His body swayed as he slowly began to lose consciousness. Suddenly, he felt like he could see Madelyn’s face.

She was smiling at him. Then, he seemed to hear Madelyn saying to him, “Zach, don’t you want me? Come on!”

A rush of heat coursed through his body. Suddenly, he turned around and pinned Cecilia beneath him. Then, he tore her dress apart violently and found out that the bra she wore was in his favorite style and color.

Cecilia shut her eyes, savoring the pleasure Zach brought as she moaned softly. Suddenly, Zach’s phone on the table vibrated. There were only a handful of people who had Zach’s number.

Apart from Kevin who would call him frequently for work-related matters, the other caller would be the landline at the Jent residence.

Thick clouds covered the dark sky of Ventropolis, blocking all moonlight. It seemed like there would be a heavy rain later. The Jent residence was in complete chaos.

Margaret paced back and forth in front of the mansion’s door while carrying Dalton. “What’s happening today? Normally the two of them would be home at this time, but neither of them is here now. It seems like this kid has been cursed and I just can’t seem to calm him down at all!” Dalton had been crying non-stop ever since Madelyn left the mansion. He even vomited all the milk Margaret fed him.

Tears just would not stop flowing down his cheeks.  Madelyn had taken a cab for several hours and finally arrived at her destination. In the border of Ventropolis’ sea, the wind howled, creating a haunting sound.

“Young lady, are you sure this is the right place?

“Someone died here not long ago. It seems like it’s about to rain. You should consider going back. Madelyn ignored the driver’s advice and got out of the car after paying him.

With a flashlight in her hand, she went into the wood. She looked around but had no idea what she was looking for. It had been so long, and everyone thought that he was dead.

However, the search and rescue team could not locate his body at all. In the face of hidden dangers lurking in the darkness, her sadness had overcome her fear.

Ethan was caught in a plane crash, yet she knew nothing about it. And all of that had only happened because of her. Zach was the reason behind everything.

Ethan and Frida were both dead now. Suddenly, a flash of purple lightning struck across the night sky, illuminating the creepy and eerie forest. It was then followed by a deafening clap of thunder.

Then, it began raining heavily.

The ice-cold rainwater penetrated her clothes, causing a nerve-wracking pain. Madelyn seemed to have reached her limit and collapsed to the ground.

The muddy ground then formed a puddle around her. With her blurry vision, she saw a dark figure slowly approaching her. Then, she saw that person’s face saying to her, “Madelyn, let’s go back, okay?”

Madelyn reached out as if she really saw a living Ethan standing right in front of her. “Ethan, I’m sorry!

“I’m so sorry.”

In an instant, Madelyn’s emotions erupted. She lay on the ground, and cried as her body trembled.

“Zach! Why did you have to kill him?

“Why? Why can’t you be the one who died?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
