The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 702

Zach continued to muse, ‘The person I had called a fool hundreds of times… When did I start feeling this way? Is it regret? Am I regretful?’

He was genuinely perplexed. He was even less clear about his feelings for Madelyn, though he did not want what belonged to him to leave. So, Zach sneaked into her room countless nights, desiring to possess her over and over again. He wanted Madelyn to become the Madelyn from before, the girl who only loved him. Even if it required every means at his disposal, he wanted to keep her by his side.

‘If it is love, I can try to love her. Even if she doesn’t accept it now, she will someday. If she wants a child so badly, I can give her a child.’

The following morning, as the first light of dawn broke, Madelyn unexpectedly heard a baby crying. She opened her eyes groggily and stared at the ceiling. After a few minutes, the distinct cry of a baby echoed once more. She looked to the side of the bed, but the pillow showed no signs of being slept on, night?’ ‘Did he stay up all night last

Madelyn curiously opened the bedroom door and walked into the living room. Then, the scene she saw left her speechless. Zach held a baby in his arms, with Kevin providing guidance nearby. “The baby must be hungry.”

Madelyn stood there in stunned silence. She ran a hand through her hair and blinked her eyes a few times, her brows furrowing as she looked at the table piled with baby items, “What are you doing? Where did this baby come from?”

Two pairs of eyes simultaneously turned toward Madelyn as she walked over. She was dressed in a nightgown, revealing her legs, and wore slippers. Zach got up from the sofa, and Kevin took the baby.

“Did you take the baby? Does his parents even know? They must be worried!”

Zach walked over with a blanket and draped it over her, “You don’t like it?”

“I’m asking you, where did this baby come from?” Madelyn asked angrily. Kevin said, “Mr. Jardin originally intended to adopt a child from the orphanage. While driving by, we spotted an abandoned baby at the orphanage’s entrance. So, we decided to bring the baby home.”

Madelyn was momentarily perplexed, ” Adopt from an orphanage? You found the baby? Do you think I’d believe that? I’ll call the police right now and report you for child abduction.”

Madelyn actually called the police. In less than fifteen minutes, two police officers arrived. It was Madelyn who opened the door for them. The police asked, “Who stole the child? Where is the child?”

When they entered, the two police officers’ stern expressions softened upon seeing Zach, “Mr. Jardin, we received a report that you stole a child?

“Wah!” The baby had been crying incessantly since being brought home. Its voice had become hoarse. Kevin felt the warmth and dampness on his arm with a strange smell. His face turned dark instantly, “M-Mr. Jardin, this child…”

‘Did he poop?’

Zach, who stayed up all night, massaged his temple due to a headache. Madelyn could not bear to see the baby crying and walked over, “Give him to me.”

When Madelyn touched the baby, she was shocked to notice that the baby’s face looked off. She leaned in to check the baby’s forehead with her face, ” He’s running a high fever. He must be sick. Didn’t you know? He needs to go to the hospital.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
