After reaching the nearest hospital, the baby was taken to the emergency room immediately. Kevin followed with two large bags of baby supplies.

The baby was taken into the intensive care unit. For the first time, Madelyn felt Zach was acting particularly childish, ‘What on earth was he thinking?”

The woman, who appeared to be in her forties or fifties, said anxiously, “Oh my! Sir, Madam, I’m really innocent in this matter. Look. How could I give birth at this age? This child isn’t mine. I found him in the trash today. I had no choice but to leave him at the entrance of the orphanage.”
Madelyn asked, “Can’t you trace where this child came from?”
The police officer said, “We reviewed the surveillance footage along the way, but we couldn’t find the person who abandoned the child. Several cameras on Chapel Street were broken, and the cameras at crucial locations didn’t record anything. It’s going to be very difficult to trace the person. So…”
The implication was clear. Madelyn turned to leave, but Zach firmly grasped her wrist and said, “Thank you. We’ll handle it ourselves.”
The police officer said, “My pleasure, Mr. Jardin.”

“You want a child. We can adopt him, and he will be our child.”

Do you realize that you’re already married?! If you want a child, you can have Yvonne birth one for you. I have no say in your adoption, but I will not accept a child of unknown origin.
