The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 677

Zach held her face and spoke indifferently as his expression turned serious. “Whatever I do is the right thing.” He did not let Madelyn go and forced her to finish her meal sitting on his lap.

Then, he took her back to the room to change into a dress of his liking. She was just like a toy to him, catering to all his preferences. Madelyn wore a long dress with a coat draped over her shoulder. Then, Zach took her into his car.

They went to the Ventropolis’ largest shopping complex, Jardin Commercial Town, a property owned by the Jardin Corporation.

All of the shops here were frequently visited by wives of wealthy men. The shopping complex offered everything from designer handbags from overseas to various customizable luxury jewelry items….

Zach held Madelyn’s hand firmly, with bodyguards following behind. “Just tell me if there’s anything you’d like to buy,” Zach said to her.

“There’s nothing I need. Zach, I want to go back!” Madelyn had never enjoyed going out. Zach coaxed her patiently, “I’ll take you back home once we’re done shopping.”

To other people, they looked exactly like a couple in love. They took the elevator to the eighth floor, where all the furniture stores were located.

As they entered one store, the manager immediately welcomed them and led them to the showroom, “Mr. Jardin, take a look at our furniture. They’re all made from high-quality redwood. We have beds and cabinets. What are you looking for?”

Zach shifted his gaze to Madelyn. ”

Which one do you like?”

Madelyn looked back at him but showed no sign of happiness. “You’re the one who wanted to come here. Choose for yourself.”

Madelyn turned around and was about to leave, but Zach’s expression had already turned unpleasant. He reached over to grab her slender waist and whispered in her ear, “If you don’t listen to me, I’ll get angry! Maddie, you know what happens when I’m angry.”

The manager put on a smile and pretended that he had heard nothing. Zach tightened his grip on Madelyn’s waist as he picked the largest bed in the store in front of her.

Madelyn gritted her teeth and they spent nearly an hour shopping before purchasing everything they needed. What puzzled her most was that Zach also bought a custom-made pink sofa.

After buying the furniture, Madelyn said, “I want to go back now. I’m tired and need some rest. Zach looked at his watch. “It’s still early.”

Madelyn felt like she was just here to entertain him. Then, for some reason, he brought Madelyn to a women’s clothing store. He walked into the lingerie section, and Madelyn stopped, feeling embarrassed. “Why did you bring me here? Have you no shame?”

Zach put on a happy smile as he gently stroked her long hair. “Sit outside for a while. Tell my bodyguard if you want anything to drink. I won’t take long.”

Madelyn turned around angrily and sat on a bench outside the store. She could not understand why Zach was doing that. Her closet was already filled with clothes, and he had just bought her the latest collection of clothes. There was no need for her to buy any new clothes at all.

Besides, his company had only gotten on track in the past two years. He had a lot of things to take care of, so Madelyn could not figure out why he would have so much free time to spend with her. Suddenly, she heard a voice ring out.

“Darling, do you love me or not? We’re just going to buy some underwear together. What’s there to be ashamed of? If you don’t come with me, it means you don’t love me!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
