The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 634

Zach picked up the photo that had fallen out of Madelyn’s book. He looked at the photo and narrowed his eyes.

“Why’d you come to the hospital without asking me first?” he asked Cecilia in a cold tone. Zach stood up and looked at her.

His presence was intimidating, but Cecilia wasn’t scared. She smirked, ” Why? Scared I’d hurt her? I’m here for you, not her.”

“Don’t forget what you promised me! I’m going to be your wife. You’d be lost without me,” she added.

“Just stay out of my business,” Zach replied.

“Listen, Zach! If you go to her, I can take away my shares in the company. Don’t forget who helped you get where you are,” Cecilia shouted as he walked away. But Zach just kept going.

Cecilia felt stressed. ‘Things are so different now. Jadie’s still alive, Madelyn isn’t with Zach, and I hate making threats, but I had no choice. Zach was never someone who feared threats. In fact… He’d get rid of those who threatened him,’ she thought.

She began to doubt if this was the same Zach she loved before. He felt so different to her.

‘In our past life, Zach would never show any mercy toward Madelyn. Does he need a reminder of who’s really on his side? Jadie should be gone. And Yvonne shouldn’t be with him. They’re in my way,’ she thought.

Madelyn returned to her hospital room and packed her things into a bag. Meanwhile, Zach’s gaze followed her as she moved around. He spoke up, “She just wanted to talk about work.”

Madelyn answered, “What you two talk about isn’t my business. I’ve got to get back to the studio. I don’t have time for this.”

As she tried to leave, Zach stopped her, “Let me know when you’re done. I’ll come get you.”

“No need!”

Suddenly, Zach’s face became grim. Madelyn, I don’t want to force you, that’s only… If you listen to me.” but “You know what I can do, right?” he continued.

Madelyn looked up, a touch of fear in her eyes. “I really have to go. And I don’t know when I’ll be done, so you don’t need to wait.”

Zach’s eyes grew sharp. “Didn’t you hear me?”

Avoiding his gaze, Madelyn replied softly, “I’ll call when I’m finished.”

Zach gently touched her hair, smiling.” Good. I’ll drop you off.”

She felt trapped by his influence and was tired of fighting it. Zach helped her with the discharge process and drove her to the studio.

“This is it. Thank you,” Madelyn unbuckled the seatbelt. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. Then, Zach reached out and slid his fingers into her hair. He leaned over and kissed her on the lips.

She wanted to push him away but held back. After the kiss ended, Madelyn opened the door and fled in a hurry.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
