The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 632

Madelyn replied in amusement, “I should be the one asking you that.. What in the world do you and Cecilia want?”

“Do you feel satisfied and the sense of revenge by keeping me here and playing with me like a prostitute?” she asked again. Zach stared at her in silence.

Madelyn coldly turned away.

“Cecilia is one of your people, so I can’t do anything to her. I just hope you’ll keep an eye on her in the future and not let her go around attacking people like a mad dog.”

Zach said, “I’ll get her to apologize to you. I’ll agree to any compensation requests you have.”

He reached out to have a good look at her face. However, Madelyn slapped his hand away.

“Don’t touch me. You’re disgusting.” She continued, “Will you agree if I want you to let me leave? If it’s a no, there’s nothing to talk about. Please leave. I want to sleep.”

Madelyn got under the covers and pulled it over her head. Then, she closed her eyes. She did not want to look at him any longer.

She felt dirty at the thought of how he had forced himself on her when he and Cecilia had slept together.

‘I don’t have any energy left to run. Perhaps… Death really is a form of liberation to me. At the very least, it’s painless,’ she thought.

“Have a good rest. I’ll come and see you again tomorrow,” Zach said after he stayed by her bed for a while. He left the room and gently closed the door.

Madelyn stayed in the hospital for a few days and was practically fully recovered.

Cecilia had not shown up in front of her since the incident.

The weather was rather nice today. The skies were blue and clear.

Madelyn went downstairs and basked under the sun. At some point, Yvonne appeared and sat down next to her.

“The weather’s pretty good today, huh?

Madelyn pursed her lips. She hesitated for a while before she finally asked what she had been meaning to say, How’s he?” 11

Yvonne knew who Madelyn was referring to.

Suddenly, she turned to look at Madelyn. “Why don’t you go see him

Madelyn did not notice the hidden emotions in Yvonne’s eyes. Yvonne had so many things she wanted to say, but she could not say them for some reason. “There’s no need. There’s no longer a place for me to stay at Ventroplis.”

Yvonne grabbed Madelyn’s hand. Madelyn noticed the diamond ring on her finger. Then, she met with Yvonne’s eyes again.

“Madelyn, go and see him! A lot of things have happened at Ventropolis over the years you weren’t around.”

Just then, a bodyguard dressed in black came over.

“Ms. Young, your driver is here. It’s time to go to the airport.”

Yvonne should have left long ago, However, she made up an excuse to stay so that she could tell Madelyn something. Zach kept a close eye on Madelyn and had her under surveillance, so there were some things she could not explain in detail. Madelyn sensed the odd atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Yvonne smiled and adjusted the bag she was holding, Anyway, Ventropolis is your home. Don’t forget to come home early.”

Madelyn watched Yvonne’s retreating figure. For some reason, she felt something was amiss. A caretaker came over and said, “Ms. Jent, it’s time for you to go back to your room and take your medication.”

Madelyn returned to her VIP ward. The person Zach had sent to watch her had already prepared her lunch. When she walked into the room, she saw someone she did not want to see.

Kevin bent over and said something to Zach, who was sitting across the table. When Kevin saw Madelyn come into the room, he immediately fell silent. After he got some instructions from Zach, he nodded and immediately left.

Just then, Madelyn’s phone rang. It was a call from Leonardo. Madelyn moved to a quiet spot to answer the phone.

“Prof. Monet.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
