The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 520

“Stop playing around,” Zach said as he grabbed her hand. He then answered the phone in front of her, “Father.”

Zach lightly pushed her away, along with her hand that was tightly holding onto his arm, before walking out to the balcony. Their conversation was not loud, but Jadie could faintly hear some of it. Right before he closed the door, Jadie heard Yvonne’s name.

Hayson said, “This is a rare opportunity for you, a chance for you to build your network in the business circle. There’s no harm in going to Avalon for management training. You don’t have to worry about your position. I’ve already arranged everything.”

Zach asked, “Is this your decision or the Young family’s?”

Hayson responded, “She’s the future heir of the Young family, and you’re my son. I’ll always prioritize your development over Madelyn’s. I hope

you won’t waste my efforts. This decision is final. After Madelyn gets engaged to the Arnold family, you’ll go to Avalon with Yvonne for training for six months before returning. I’ll hand your work matters over to Kevin temporarily. He’s your confidant and has been with you for so many years, so I trust him.”

Zach replied, “I understand. I’ll consider this.”

Hayson said, “You should also consider your own future and make preparations. Interact with Yvonne more. There’s no harm in receiving the cooperation of both the Arnold and Young families. If you want to establish yourself in the business world, you must do this. Stop focusing on irrelevant people. If you can’t handle it, I’ll help you clear the obstacles around you.”

Zach responded, “Okay.” A mysterious glint flashed past Zach’s eyes. After Hayson ended the call, Zach put his phone away.

He then walked back into the ward. Jadie looked hurt and sad as she stared at him, “So, you’re leaving me too? You got together with Yvonne after you couldn’t have Madelyn! Zach, you promised me that you wouldn’t fall for someone else.”

Zach did not know how much she had heard. There was not much expression on his face. He said, “We’ll talk about this in the future.”

“You’re going to marry Yvonne, right? For your position of authority!” Jadie’s tone began to show stress. She was agitated, causing blood to flow into the IV tube. Zach responded, “Jadie, I won’t leave you.”

Jadie said, “You’re lying to me! You’re still lying to me at this point! You said you didn’t like Madelyn, but you do. You went to find her last night, right?

Whenever we stayed at the Jent residence, I could hear you going upstairs. And you always spent the night there. Did you think I didn’t know? You thought you could hide this from everyone, but you couldn’t! Do you know how much I had to endure it every time you went to see her?

“I’m scared! Zach! I’m really scared! I’m afraid you’ll find me dirty. I’m afraid you’ll not want me anymore. I hate myself. Why do I have to remember being inhumanly humiliated and tortured by those three men?!

“In my most helpless moment, I kept calling your name. I wished so much that you’d appear, appear in front of me…”

Jadie could not hold back her tears any longer. She cried out loud. Zach hugged her and comforted her, “1 I’ve never thought about abandoning you. Jadie, I won’t leave you.”

Jadie responded, “Then promise me you won’t look for Madelyn anymore, and don’t leave me for Yvonne, okay?” Zach’s tone became heavier, “Okay.”

Kai happened to see this touching scene at the door. When he saw a nurse walking toward him, he put his finger in front of his lips signaling her to keep quiet.

Kai was lost in his thoughts, “This monster is better at comforting women than me. Will he really move on from Madelyn? He knows he’s related to Madelyn, and yet he has feelings for her. How is it possible for him to just let go of those feelings?

‘I’ve told him so many times, one must hide their weak points properly! Once one shows vulnerability, they can be easily manipulated, even when in a position of power. With these weaknesses, there’ll always be dangerous risks. Ethan is the best example.’

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
