The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 521

At this moment, Kai received a very interesting message on his phone. He thought, ‘Turns out that Donna, who had been imprisoned, is now out of jail… Interesting. She’s been released just one month before the engagement. Is he really planning to make a move so soon?’

“Dr. Stewart, a lady named Wincy Burton wants to see you,” his medical assistant said, approaching him. Xander put his phone away and asked, ” Where’s she now?”

The assistant responded, “I’ve brought her to your office.”

Kai replied, “Okay.”

As soon as Kai walked into his office, he saw an oddly familiar woman. She was standing in front of the floor-to- ceiling window wearing a light-colored dress and with long blonde hair. Her hands were crossed.

Wincy turned around as soon as she heard the footsteps behind her and exclaimed, “It’s been a long time, Dr. Stewart!” Her tone was filled with emotion.

Kai waved his hand signaling his assistant behind him to leave the room. The medical assistant did so, closing the office door.

“Ms. Burton! It’s been three years. It seems like you’ve recovered well. What brings you here this time?” Kai asked.

Wincy, in ankle strap heels, walked up to him and said, “Why didn’t you make it clear to me that my new face from the plastic surgery would be based on the likeness of someone you knew? Do you know how many people are criticizing me now that I’ve returned?”

Kai smiled calmly, making his seductive face appear even more alluring. He placed the ward round report on the desk.

He responded, “Starry Plastic Surgery Clinic has always upheld the principle of putting customers first. You chose the face back then, so of course I respected your choice. But now you’re blaming it on me. What kind of reasoning is this?”

When that was mentioned, Wincy got even angrier, “Yes, you’re right! But I thought that image was Al-generated. If you’d told me back then that she was someone you were close to, I’d never have chosen her face for the surgery. Should your company be responsible for this?!”

Kai calmly pulled her toward him with one hand and moved closer to her. Wincy panicked and stared at him cautiously. She moved backward, “W- What are you doing?!” Her back was against the table and had no room to back away any further. When she tried to leave, Kai held the edges of the table with his hands to prevent her from escaping. His slender, affectionate eyes were captivating, and his gaze was intense.

“I actually feel that there’s a unique charm about you. Besides your face, your figure looks quite good too. As long as you’re beautiful enough, why should you care about what others think? Don’t you think so? Moreover, even a gentleman enjoys physical pleasures. Those pursuers won’t mind your past. It’s great being in the limelight, right?!”

Wincy had spent many years abroad and she had countless suitors. Most of them were attracted by how she looked. However, those foreign men were fickle and would never be satisfied with just one person.

She had only experienced one relationship. It had been a hurtful experience, and she never dated again after that.

During her time in the country, Wincy had made friends with many wealthy individuals from prestigious and affluent families. However, they looked at her aggressively, with lewd intentions that she could discern immediately. Moreover, the rich ones were either sleazy or overweight, and some even offered to become her sugar daddy.

Wincy always avoided such people.

She thought, ‘Kai was born attractive, and can easily make countless women willingly offer themselves to him…. Even I can’t help but be attracted to him sometimes.’

As she was staring at him, she was reminded of the man who had left her stunned when she gathered her courage to step into the plastic surgery clinic. She had never seen a man who looked so pretty and was so kind- hearted.

At that time, she had been extremely ugly and full of self-doubt. Back then, she did not dare to look in the mirror, and every man she passed by would give her a disgusted and disdainful look.

But this man did not. When she had been on the operating table, he had whispered in her ear, “Don’t be nervous, in the future you’ll definitely be the center of attention. This is the surprise I have for you. You won’t be disappointed.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
