The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 519

Madelyn thought, ‘Did Jadie attempt to commit suicide?’ Before Madelyn could greet Jadie, she was already rushed to the hospital. She had never seen her in such a disheveled and weakened state. If she had not seen it with her own eyes, she would not have believed it.

Madelyn thought, ‘Zach has always treasured Jadie. How could he bear to let her get hurt?’ Ethan’s voice brought her back to her senses, “Do you want to go check on her?”

Madelyn shook her head, “No need. They can handle it.”

This was Jadie and Zach’s business, and Madelyn did not want to be involved. Whether Jadie had attempted suicide or not, it was no longer any of her business. This time, Jadie’s wound was deeper than the previous one.

The nurse, who was treating Jadie’s wound, frowned. The new cut was on top of the original wound. Jadie was skinny, so the new wound was deep enough that the bone showed. The previous sutures had even been sliced open by a sharp knife. There were threads embedded messily in the flesh.

The nurse sighed, “Life is priceless. Young lady, your boyfriend must be heartbroken that you injured yourself like this!” She had seen many suicide attempts in her time, but very few could harm themselves to this extent.

When Jadie heard the nurse mention” boyfriend”, she smiled faintly. She affectionately held the hand of the man beside her as she looked at him, “Yes, he’s always cared deeply for me. I was too impulsive this time.”

The current appearance of Jadie was completely different from when she cried hysterically in front of Zach this morning.

The nurse scolded Zach with a stern tone, “You should pay more attention to your girlfriend in the future. If she can’t be saved next time something like this happens again, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

Zach’s face darkened as he reluctantly responded with a grunt. Jadie defended Zach, “Don’t blame him. It’s all my fault. Zach, can you pour me a glass of water?”

Zach then obediently went to the drinking water area to get a glass of warm water for Jadie while Jadie and the nurse were talking about something. When Zach returned, the nurse had already left.

Zach placed the glass of water in front of Jadie. There was a straw inside. Jadie asked, “Zach, can you feed me?”

Zach then held the glass to her lips. Jadie smiled slightly, “Are you this caring to Madelyn too? But… She’ll be engaged to someone else soon. It’s a pity that you and Madelyn will no longer have the chance to be together. After the engagement, she’ll become his wife very soon. When that happens, what’ll you do?”

Zach responded, “That isn’t something you should be concerned about. I need to go back to the company now. I’ll have Leyton come over later.”

Jadie said, “If you dare to step out of this hospital, you’ll come back to a corpse.” Zach stopped in his tracks when he was at the door and decided to stay.

Jadie’s emotional needs were satisfied, but she did not find any contentment. She thought, ‘My beloved Zach is gradually slipping away from me. He’s fallen in love with someone else…’

Jadie was connected to an IV drip. Even when Zach’s phone rang, she clung to him and refused to let him answer the call. She was sitting in his arms and looking at the word “Hayson” on his phone screen as she asked, “Are you not going to answer it?”

She then played with the obsidian shirt button in front of his chest.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
