The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 460 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 460

Madelyn thought, ‘Ethan not being able to let go of Donna is just like Zach; he couldn’t let go
of Jadie even after she died in my past life.
‘I thought Ethan would get back with Donna. Why did he come to find me in the middle of the
night? He’s always unpredictable… just like Zach.

Madelyn was only eighteen years old now. But she was living her second life, so she was very mature.
At four twenty–six in the morning, in the dimly lit study, Zach’s eyes were extremely cold as he
watched the surveillance footage. At this moment, he was like a lurking snake in the shadows.

He made the atmosphere in the entire study very chilly.
He grabbed the cup nearby and violently threw it at the door. The coffee slowly dripped down.
The shattered pieces of the cup were on the floor.

The sound of the cup shattering was as loud as the raging storm outside. The raindrops
pattered against the windows. The sudden lightning bolt in the sky cast a shadow on half of
Zach’s face. He looked very cold and terrifying.

Jadie heard the loud sound and immediately opened the study door, “Zach!”
The light from the computer screen was shining on Zach’s face. When Jadie saw the look on
his face, she was frightened. She asked, “What happened? I heard…”

“Get out!” Zach’s voice was low. He tried to suppress his anger.
Jadie worriedly took a step closer, “I’m just worried about you.”

Zach bellowed, “Don’t you understand what I said? Let me repeat myself. You aren’t allowed
to get near the study without my permission!”

Jadie clenched her fists so tightly that her fingertips turned white, “I–I got it.”
She was frustrated and shed tears. She then turned around and walked out before forcefully
closing the study door as if venting her emotions.

Right at that moment, the phone on the desk rang and vibrated.
When Zach saw the phone number, he grabbed his phone and walked to the floor–to–ceiling
window. He stood upright, answering the call with another hand in his pocket. He quietly
waited for the other person to speak.

He then heard a hysterical scream, “Ethan has gone back! He must’ve gone to find her. You
have to figure something out. You must think fast… Ethan is mine! He’s mine!”
Zach took out a cigarette and lit it in the darkness. The smoke curled up in the air. He
emotionlessly said, “If you want me to do something for you, you must pay a price or an
equivalent exchange. What can you offer me?”

It seemed like he expected this person to call him.
The other person said, “Give me a price. I’ll pay any amount of money you want!”
Zach exhaled thick smoke, “I’m not interested in money.”

The other person asked, “What do you want then?”
Zach answered, “What I want is quite simple. It just depends on whether you’re willing to or not.”

The other person said hurriedly, “Okay. I’ll give you anything as long as you help me.”
Zach asked, “Even your life?” The three words were so menacing that they resembled a demon from hell.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
