The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 461

Zach’s words brought back memories of the incident at Supreme World for Donna.
Jadie, who was still at the door, heard what he said. Her body suddenly went limp, and she
leaned against the wall. She covered her mouth with her hands.

She did not dare to make any sound. She looked terrified. She believed she had discovered some scary secret. She never knew Zach had so many secrets.
She thought, ‘Has he killed someone before? Why did he want her life?! No… That’s impossible!‘

Jadie remembered Zach as someone who would kneel and beg others when she was starving, just to get a meal for her. She remembered him, who had adopted stray animals. She also remembered that even after the Jent family adopted him, he continued to donate to a welfare center with his own money to
provide for those children’s education. So, Jadie believed Zach would not do such an evil act.

She did not know how she got back to her room. She sat on her bed for a very long time and
was still in a daze.
After Zach ended the phone call, he turned around and looked at the screen on the desk,
which was still on.

By the time Madelyn had finished tending to Ethan’s wounds, it was already morning. After a
night of heavy rain and strong winds, the ground outside was littered with fallen branches and
leaves. It was a scene of chaos.

Margaret entered the room and said, “Ms. Jent, you should get some rest. You’ve been taking
care of him all night. You didn’t really get any rest. I just tested the signal, and it’s back. I
called that phone number, and he said he’ll arrive very soon.”
Madelyn stood up and lost her balance. Margaret quickly supported her.

Madelyn said, “His fever went away. There shouldn’t be any major issues apart from that. If he
wakes up, just tell him I’ve gone out.”
“All right, then.” Margaret continued, “Breakfast is ready. Maybe you should eat something to
ease your stomach.”

“After he comes to pick Ethan up, you should take a two–day break. It’s been a while since
you went home,” Madelyn said as she turned around and left the room.
Although Madelyn said that, Margaret felt she should not just leave Madelyn without ensuring
she was taken care of.

Margaret quickly went downstairs to make some dishes and put them inside some glass bowls
before covering them tightly with lids. She was afraid Madelyn would not know about the food
she made, so she left a note on the refrigerator.

Margaret did not receive much education but knew how to cook some dishes. In the past,
when she worked as a maid, people often found her clumsy and spoke without thinking. Her
employers would fire her after just a few days.

This household was the longest Margaret had worked for. It was also the easiest job she had,
with high pay.
She thought she should take care of Madelyn properly as she was paid. She could not write,
so she drew a simple picture on the note. It depicted a little person holding a bowl,
symbolizing eating.

After she finished cleaning up, someone rang the doorbell.
Margaret wiped her hands and answered the intercom. When she recognized the person’s
voice, she let him in.

Leyton looked tired. He received the call when he was rushing back to Ventropolis after
sending Donna back to Prilo.
He asked, “Where is he?“”

Margaret answered, “He’s in Ms. Jent’s room. She instructed me to tell you to take him away
and not to come here again.”
Leyton pursed his lips as he said, “What else did Ms. Jent said?”
Margaret sighed, “She’s gone out. She told me to tell you to take him to the hospital
immediately.”

Leyton nodded, “Thank you.”
He then hurriedly went upstairs. After he entered Madelyn’s room, he saw the unconscious
man lying on the bed and that half of his body was wrapped in bandages. It was only then that
he realized something was wrong. He quickly uncovered the blanket and helped Ethan up
before carrying him downstairs.

Margaret went back to her room to pack her stuff. She was preparing to go home to check on her husband. Madelyn watched Leyton leave with Ethan from upstairs.

She then closed the curtains before changing the bed linen. She was very tired after taking care of Ethan for the whole night. She fell asleep almost immediately after she laid her head on her pillow.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
