The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1145

Cecilia picked up the call and asked calmly, “Did something happen?”

Susan answered swiftly, “Ms. Samford, Mr. Jardin was injured! I saw Mr. Jardin being carried out of the hotel room by a paramedic. He was covered in blood and had a dagger in his chest. He doesn’t look well. Mrs. Jardin also seems to have escaped.

“Ms. Samford, do we call the cops now? But Kevin has withheld all information regarding the news and is forbidding any leaks,” Susan continued.

“What did you say? Madelyn dared hurt him? Which hospital is he in right now? “Cecilia asked with a menacing look. Susan told her, “The Community Hospital. The same hospital you are in.”

Cecilia replied, “Alright. Keep a close eye on him, and don’t give yourself away.”

Susan obliged, “Yes, Ms. Samford. I’ll be returning to the company first. I’ll contact you if anything happens.”

After Cecilia hung up the phone, she had the nurses help her into a wheelchair. One asked her, “Ms. Samford, will you not have the soup?”

Cecilia answered, “My man is hurt. I need to go and take a look.”

She overheard that Kevin was already waiting outside Zach’s operating room. He saw her but did not react. Cecilia waved her hand, and the nurse behind her left them alone.

She raised her head and stared at the lit -up red sign that indicated they were still operating. She chuckled and said, ” I never expected that there would be a day I would be waiting for him outside the operating room. This is the woman you wanted, Zach. Yet, she stabbed you on the day of your wedding.”

‘It seems Madelyn has reincarnated as well. All my tests and trials yielded the same answers. Madelyn had reincarnated just like me. If not, she would have loved him so deeply that she could not bring herself to hurt him, ‘Cecilia thought.

Cecilia also knew that this matter did not sound odd to Kevin. She had planted many spies around them, so it was not hard to find out.

Kevin told her, “You should take care of yourself, Ms. Samford. Mr. Jardin will persevere.”

Coincidentally, the door to the operating room opened. A nurse walked out, and Kevin asked her, “How is he doing?”

The nurse stayed silent.

‘The wedding was just bland,’ Fred thought. He left Eternal Seasons while two deputy wardens followed behind him, reporting what had happened in the two hours. Fred commented with a piercing gaze, “I’ve told him before that he would suffer under that woman. Where’s Mya?”

One of the deputy wardens answered, ” Ms. Harper is in the car. But…”

Before the deputy warden could continue, Fred opened the door and saw Blake in the backseat. She waved at Fred and greeted him, “Morning, Fred!

Mya was eating her cookies and asked, ” Blake, did Madelyn make me these herself? They’re so tasty!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
