The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1146

“Who let her in?” Fred asked. The deputy warden answered, “Ms. Harper brought her in. She said she wanted to stay with us for a few days. We saw that Ms. Harper was happy, so we didn’t do anything about it.”

Blake was seated at the innermost seat. She also put her hand down after seeing Fred’s annoyed face. She smiled while hiding behind Mya and thought, ‘ Fred is just like Mr. Jardin. They are so terrifying. I’ll never understand how Madelyn and Mya put up with them.’

When Blake compared them to Kevin, he seemed like an angel. Besides, Fred’s stare made her shudder. His smile was even more ominous.

Fred asked Mya, “Is bringing someone home such a delightful thing?”

Mya picked up the dropped cookies and patted the dust off them. She then said, “Blake is my younger sister. My mom said that older siblings have to take care of their younger siblings. Blake is the best; she has also helped me eliminate the bad guys. I want her to be with me. Even if you disagree, I’ll still bring her home with me.”

Blake saw her about to put the dirty biscuit into her mouth and quickly reached out. She threw it out the window and reminded her, “Don’t eat anything that has fallen on the floor.”

‘Why do I feel like Mya’s condition has worsened?’ Blake thought.

Blake saw marks on Mya’s wrists when she stretched her hand out. The wound was still fresh; they were at most three or four days ago.

‘How did these marks come about?’ Blake thought but suppressed her suspicions.Fred kept quiet but seemed to have agreed to allow Blake to come to Ventropolis Prison. However, Blake had yet to know the place they were going was a living hell.

Coincidentally, a man dressed in a suit walked to one of the deputy wardens and whispered something. Blake saw how secretive they were and had a bad feeling about it. The deputy warden walked around the car and pulled her out.

“Eh, what are you doing? What’s happening, Fred?” Blake cried. Mya looked at Fred with furrowed brows and asked, “What’re you doing, Fred?”

The deputy warden closed the door, isolated them both, and said, “When you’ve settled everything here, we’ll welcome you to the Ventropolis Prison with open arms!”

Blake was confused, “Huh?”

‘What do they mean? Ventropolis Prison?” Blake thought.

Blake suddenly had a sinking feeling and thought, ‘Oh shit! When Madelyn left, Mr. Jardin must’ve assumed I let her go. I didn’t make any mistakes with the wedding, but I was responsible for everything.”

At the same time, she slapped her forehead in regret and remembered, “I shouldn’t have taken that cheque.”

Liam walked out of the Eternal Seasons and saw Blake. He walked over and touched her forehead before asking, ” What’s wrong?”

Blake saw him and noticed that he would appear whenever she was at her lowest.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
