The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1091

Watching Kevin left angrily, Susan stomped her foot in frustration, ‘I don’t even know why he is taking out his anger on me out of nowhere! That darn Blake!’

After snagging the contract, Kevin returned to the office. When he saw that Zach was not in, he called him to fill him in on the details.

Zach said, “Well done. Have someone keep a close eye on everything to ensure it’s all good on the wedding day.

“Okay, Mr. Jardin,” said Kevin and ended the call. The brand-new contracts that were dropped off for approval were on the desk. Sitting at his desk, he could not concentrate at all. Holding a pen, he rubbed his forehead and spent the entire morning distracted, Kevin had never felt this emotionally scattered before, ‘What’s wrong with me?’

At 3 pm, Susan swung by to remind Kevin about the meeting and wrapped up by 4.30 pm.

As Kevin strolled past Blake’s desk, Janice glanced up and filled him in. It was like second nature to her by now, Ah! Mr. Harrison, Blake left the office this morning. I texted her, and she said she was with Ms. Samford, helping her check out of the hospital. After that, they went to Eternal Seasons to entertain some clients. She hasn’t returned yet, but I just messaged her a little while ago.” 11

However, Janice’s phone vibrated at this moment. She got a reply and immediately checked it out, “Blake said she had already gone back home. What! It’s a message replied by Mr. Xander!” The usually calm person who talked slowly suddenly shouted. Janice sneakily glanced at Kevin, who had returned to his office. Her heart skipped a beat.

Hearing Janice’s words, the company’s private group chat started buzzing again.

Blake lounged on the comfy bed and felt a soothing warmth in her throat as someone fed her some sweet, delicious soup. She eagerly slurped down two bowls, not wanting to miss a drop.

“Drink slowly. There’s more.” It was a hangover soup that Liam made for her.

‘Being this intoxicated, I really couldn’t tell how much you drank.’ After feeding Blake, Liam tidied up the clothes scattered on the floor from her drunken frenzy.

As soon as Blake returned, she started rummaging through Liam’s wardrobe, saying she needed a shower. He calmed her down for quite a while before she settled. By the time Liam finished tidying up, it was already 5.30 pm. After all that, he went back to work.

Blake slept straight through until a little after three in the early morning. She groggily got up, peeled back the covers, and stumbled to the bathroom. Once there, she did her business and washed her hands. The harsh glare of the bathroom lights snapped her fully awake, and she realized she was not wearing her favorite Teddy Bear pajamas.

‘Oh my goodness! What on earth? Where am I?

‘Ahh! Where’s the big bathtub I bought for thirty thousand dollars? Where’s my Teddy Bear pajamas? Where am I?’ She panicked.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
