The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1090

Olivia saw that Liam was unfazed, making her anxious. She leaned back and said, “I am. Don’t tell me you’re going to Jardin Corporation because of Blake.”

Seeing that Liam did not reply, she took it as a yes. As she thought about this, Olivia grew furious. She yelled, ” You’ve only known her for so long while we’ve known each other for many years. Can’t you do it for old times’ sake?”

Liam was calm throughout the conversation. He said, “She liked that book, so I can’t accept a buyout. The agreement to their rights will be according to the original agreement of up to fifteen years.”

Then, Liam stood up with his coat and said, “It’s getting late, so I’ll be going back to work.”

“Fifty million dollars, that’s my price.

That’s my final offer,” Olivia said.

Liam just walked out of the booth. When he was going down the elevator, he turned around. He saw Blake from the corner of his eyes and heard her screams.

“I don’t want to. Let me go!” Blake shouted.

“Blake!” Liam roared and rushed over. He stopped her from being dragged into a car. After pulling her back, he placed her behind him and asked, ” Who are you people?”

“Who are you, you little shit?” One of the men asked drunkenly. Liam took his phone out and dialed 911, saying, “I want to report a case at the Eternal Seasons.”

When they saw Liam calling the police, they left in a panic. They threatened him, “We’ll remember this!”

When they left, Liam put down his phone. He did not actually call the cops and was just bluffing them. He turned around to check on Blake. He saw her thin clothing and placed his coat on her. He asked, “Blake? Why did you drink so much?”

Blake stared back at him drunkenly. Everything was blurry and spinning in her eyes. At the same time, Kevin had finished discussing their collaboration with the owner of Eternal Seasons and walked out of the booth.

When they were getting in the car, Susan motioned to Kevin and said, “Mr. Harrison, look over there; it really is Blake. She isn’t at the company and is meeting with Mr. Xander here. That can’t be right! What was happening between Blake and the men just now if they were dating?”

Kevin observed Blake and could see that she had too much to drink.

Blake placed her hands on Liam’s face with a smile. She exclaimed, “Oh my, who is this handsome man here? Could you be my boyfriend, handsome man?”

Liam’s expression froze. He then softly grabbed her hand, “Blake, I’m Liam. I’ll send you home, okay?”

However, Kevin suddenly grabbed Blake by the collar and pulled her back.

“You must have a lot of free time coming to Eternal Seasons, Mr. Xander. Where are you taking her?” Kevin said while looking at him coldly.

“Who do you think you are? What are you doing? What are you going to do to my boyfriend?! You’re so rough!” Blake shouted back. She pushed Kevin but lost her balance. Thankfully, Liam caught her in time.

Blake stood back up and held onto Liam in a protective stance. She threatened them, “I’ll remember the both of you. If you dare make a move, I’ll beat the both of you to death.”

Liam coaxed her, “Blake, it’s fine. Let’s go home.”

“Go back? Fine, let’s go home now.

We’ll go home and make babies. My mom keeps nagging me, and I’m tired of it. Once we go back, we’ll have eight of them. We’ll have her raise them since she keeps pushing for me to get married,” Blake rambled on. She continued to walk wobbly while still holding Liam’s hand. She was very eager to leave immediately.

After walking for a while, Blake fell asleep. Thankfully, Liam carried her into his car and buckled her seatbelt.

Susan watched the scene unfold with joy. She thought, ‘Oh, Blake. You’re skipping work and asking men out to dinner. Had it not been for Liam today, you would’ve been a plaything for those old men. What a shame!’

An odd emotion erupted in Kevin. He gave Susan a sideway glance and said, ” Your performance bonus for this month will be deducted.”

Susan asked in shock, “I-I… Mr. Harrison. Why?”

When she met Kevin’s gaze, she immediately shut up.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
