The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1092

In about half a minute, Blake pieced it all together. Liam had brought her back from Eternal Seasons. Sitting on the edge of the bed in confusion, Blake suddenly recalled that she seemed to have teased him, tried to take off his clothes, and even mentioned wanting to have a child with him.

She said to herself, “Blake! Are you that thirsty? In TV shows, isn’t it always the case that people don’t remember anything after getting drunk? Now, can someone please tell me why I remember everything so vividly? Oh no, this is bad!”

Blake rarely got drunk, but who would have thought she would get this wild when she did? She thought, ‘I think when Liam comes looking for me, I might have some explaining to do, maybe even face the music.

She resided across the hall with a room layout nearly identical to Liam’s. She grabbed her bag from the bedside and quietly opened the bedroom door. She peered into the pitch-dark living room, thinking Liam was probably asleep. She took a few steps, closed the door behind her, and made her move to leave.

Just then, the next room’s door suddenly swung open. Liam wore cozy white pajamas, with tousled hair falling over his forehead, hiding those amber-like eyes. Seeing Blake awake, Liam quickly tucked away the freshly lit cigarette he held between his fingertips behind his back.

Blake caught Liam’s subtle moves and sniffed the smoke wafting from the guest room where he slept. They locked eyes and froze for almost half a minute before Blake reacted, “Y-You’re awake?

Liam casually replied, “No, I’m updating today’s novel chapter. Are you heading back?”

Blake could not figure out why, but seeing him like this suddenly made her feel sorry for him, “You stayed up this late, right? Did I go overboard today and mess up your routine? I’m sorry! Those clients that I entertained got me completely hammered. Normally, I’m not a heavy drinker at all.’

Liam glanced down and said, “It’s okay.

“Well… I’ll head back now! You should go to bed. Don’t let me interfere with your work tomorrow,” said Blake.

Liam nodded, “Okay.”

After Blake left, the motion-sensor lights in the hallway automatically lit up. She returned home, sat on her balcony’s rattan chair, and let the cold breeze hit her. Instantly, her mind cleared up considerably. Looking at the darkness below, it would not be long before dawn.

She crashed out for a good while at Liam’s house, so she was not feeling the least bit sleepy now. She could not shake off his sad expression and what he said earlier, “From childhood to now, I’ve always been alone. No one has ever been this kind to me. My parents divorced because of me, and they each started their own families. After I recovered from my illness, my mother hasn’t paid much attention to my recent situation.”

Right downstairs, a car hid in the darkness. The man in the driver’s seat stared at the place where the lights were still on. Blake’s phone was in her bag. A message came in, but she did not hear the notification sound.

After a while, she got up, grabbed a bunch of snacks from the room, and headed to the door. Just as she was about to ring his doorbell, she noticed the closed door swung open on its own. She walked in slowly and placed the snacks she brought on the dining table. Looking at the light spilling from the door crack and listening to the faint sounds, she thought, ‘I knew he hadn’t gone to bed yet.’

“Liam, check out what I brought for you.” Blake grinned and opened the door. Her smile instantly froze when she saw the white pills in Liam’s hand, “What meds are you taking? Is your headache still bothering you? What about those herbal medicines I recommended last time? Did it not work after you take it?”

Blake sat next to Liam, the soft mattress sinking slightly, ‘I was just gone for a bit; how did I not notice his bloodshot eyes? It only happens when he has a splitting headache.’

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
