The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1045

Blake fought back, “No, I’m already off the clock.”

Kevin warned her, “Did you forget what I told you? You’ll suffer the consequence if you don’t get in.”

‘He’s threatening me!’ Blake thought. She shouted back at him firmly, “We’ve already broken up, so why are you still looking for me? It’s after work, and you still want to take up my free time! You’re heartless!”

After Blake finished, she pretended to cry and wiped her tears. Kevin lost his patience and got out of his car. He said, “Before you cry, make sure you have tears on your face.”

“Mr. Harrison,” A gentle voice suddenly rang from not far away. Blake saw her and greeted her with a bowed head, “Ms. Parker.”

“What a coincidence! We meet again,” Audrey Parker said.

“Ms. Parker, it’s windy today. Let us go inside quickly,” Audrey’s maid suggested.

Audrey was dressed in a white fur coat while her hair was tied into a bun. Her features were soft and had an air of elegance. She also looked weak, as if a gust of wind could blow her away.

“I’m fine. I rarely get to go out for a walk,” Audrey said with a pale face. She asked, “Mr. Harrison, have your wounds healed? You can’t have your wounds be in contact with any moisture.”

Kevin nodded and replied, “Thank you for your concern. I’m feeling much better now. I must go now, but please take care of yourself, Ms. Parker.”

Audrey smiled,” I will.”

Blake had never seen Kevin like this before. Blake started to feel rage building inside her, suspecting that Kevin had cheated on her with Audrey. Then, Blake sized up Audrey and compared her to herself.

‘Her wasn’t as full, her hips not as shapely, and her waist not as slender. Her voice is soft and gentle, unlike my loud voice,’ Blake thought.

Kevin looked at Blake and said coldly, ” Follow me into the car.”

“Why are you so angry! No wonder you’re only fit to be my ex! Being loud doesn’t mean I’ll do as you say!” Blake yelled back. Her words seemed either to irritate Kevin or for Audrey to listen.

However, Audrey’s maid suddenly yelped at the same time, “Ms. Parker, are you alright?”

Just as Audrey was about to faint, Kevin caught her. Audrey’s maid said anxiously, “Ms. Parker is having another heart attack. Could you please take her to the hospital, Mr. Harrison?”

Kevin agreed, “Sure, get in the car.”

When Audrey and her maid got in the car, Kevin drove and left at full speed.

Blake ignored them, turned to grab Liam’s sleeves, and left.

Liam stared at Blake and commented, ” You’re unhappy.”

Blake asked, “Liam, do you have someone you like?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
