The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1025

Just as Blake was about to send another message, she realized It could not go through. Frustrated, she

thought, Kevin, you jerk! What makes you think you’re so special? Fine, don’t reply, then, Who cares?

lake refused to be disrespected. She blocked Kevin and permanently deleted his contact, thinking. ‘Don’t

you dare ask to be added back.”

She then informed Cecilia, “Ms. Stamford, I couldn’t reach Mr. Harrison. He’s blocked me!”

Cecilia snapped, “What use are you then?”

Blake kept her distance and quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, Ms. Stamford. It won’t happen again.

At that moment, Cecilia’s gaze met Madelyn’s from the third–floor window: Her thoughts darkened with

jealousy. “Madelyn, you think you’re better than me?‘

Despite her anger, Cecilia maintained her composure and called Madelyn.

Madelyn answered, waiting silently. Cecilia could not hold back, “Don’t get too comfortable, Madelyn. Without Zach, you’re nothing.”

Madelyn, recalling how she once felt helpless, knew she was stronger now, even without Zach.

She replied to Cecilia with a calm demeanor, “Ms. Stamford, Zach is only interested in the financial

benefits you bring. He needs me right now. Perhaps you should keep your distance.”

Madelyn turned away after hanging up, unaware of Cecilia’s burning hatred.

Cecilia, still arrogant, failed to realize her status depended entirely on Zach. Without him, she could never

have reached her current state. She aspired to be Zach’s equal, but she did not realize how formidable

the real Zach was.

When Zach arrived at his office, he received a call from Margaret, “Mr. Jardin, there was a woman at the

door acting quite aggressively and looking for Ms. Jent earlier. Luckily we didn’t let her in.”

Zach asked, “How is Madelyn?”

Margaret replied softly, ‘Ms. Jent seems unbothered. She’s painting now.”

Thank

to fight back,

Margaret,” said Zach. He smirked as he hung up the phone, pleased that Madelyn knew how

Back at the office, Cecilia confronted Zach, throwing documents on his table and ranted, “Why didn’t you

answer my calls?”

ile turned to Kevin and continued, “And why didn’t you send me his schedule? Can’t you understand mote instructions?

Blake, waiting outside, shivered. She was glad to be leaving this dysfunctional company and cheered Inwardly of seeing Kevin being yelled at.

Zach gestured for Kevin to leave the office.

“Serve him right!” Blake muttered under her breath, relishing in Kevin’s misfortune.

Suddenly, the office door opened, surprising Blake. Kevin glared at her, and she rolled her eyes in return.

“Hmph. I’m leaving soon, I’m not scared of you,” Blake muttered to herself.

Then, Blake received an unexpected call from her mother. She asked while walking to the balcony, “Mom, are you back?”

Her mother suggested a blind date, which frustrated Blake. She protested, “You’ve been gone so long, and now you!

you’re trying to set me up on dates? I’m fine living with Aunt Grace.”

Blake resigned and agreed to one last blind date. She wished her parents would return from the research institute for her birthday, as she had felt neglected since childhood.

After Blake ended the call, she felt wronged. She thought, They always send money, but I need more than that. I need them. I’ve been independent since I was left with Aunt Grace. As if I’m not their daughter at all. I’m tired of this family and also this job.”

As Blake turned around, she was startled to see someone behind her. Annoyed, she stormed off, passing by Kevin.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
