The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1024

Zach left, the Young residence’s living room lay in disarray, with expensive items damaged.

Kevin, trailing behind Zech, had not seen him lose his cool like this in years. Kevin reflected on the old days, realizing that if it had been back then, Yvonne would have faced dire consequences.

The damage inflicted by the bodyguards was a mere trifle for the Young family, yet it sent a clear warning

Kevin thought about Yvonne’s miraculous survival from the plane crash and wondered why she was the only one.

“Won’t this provoke the Young family into slandering Jardin Corporation?” Kevin asked Zach.

Zach, flicking his cigarette away, replied with a dismissive air, “Since when have I feared the Young family? We’re heading to the office.”

Kevin, understanding Zach’s cue, responded, “Yes, Mr. Jardin.”

Meanwhile, at Jardin Corporation, Cecilia, frustrated, ended a call. Then, Blake approached with coffee and said, “Ms. Samford, your coffee. Is there anything else?”

Blake, despite her pending resignation, diligently assisted Cecilia.

“Why haven’t I received Mr. Jardin’s schedule yet?” Cecilia inquired sharply.

Blake explained, “Only Mr. Harrison has access to Mr. Jardin’s schedule. I messaged him yesterday, but no reply. I’ve tried calling, but no luck. Mr. Jardin hasn’t been in the office much lately, often working from home.”

Cecilia mulled over that and then instructed, “Carry on with your tasks. And later, come with me to Zach’s villa. I need his signature.”

Blake acknowledged and left, deciding to inform Madelyn about Cecilia’s planned visit.

In the studio, preparing to paint, Madelyn checked her phone and saw a message from Blake, [Madelyn, Cecilia is coming to see Mr. Jardin.]

‘Cecilia is coming? Madelyn thought to herself.

Madelyn replied, [Got it, thanks.]

Blake replied, No problem.]

Margaret entered with a bowl of expensive wagyu beef soup for Madelyn, muttering, “Mr. Jardin spares

stop what you’re doing and drink this. It’s something special today,” Margaret urged.

Madelyn looked at the soup’s rich color, pretty but unappetizing. She instructed Margaret, “If someone

visits later, let the bodyguards handle it. Don’t let anyone in, regardless of who it is. If asked, say Zach

Isn’t here.

Margaret nodded and said, “Yes, Ms. Jent.”

Ms. Jent is becoming more like the mistress of the house now. I wonder who’s coming? A guest maybe?

If it’s someone Ms. Jent doesn’t welcome, that person must be no good.” Margaret thought to herself.

Madelyn tasted the soup. It was refreshing and not greasy. She commented, “Not bad.”

After an hour of sketching. Madelyn noticed a flashy red Lamborghini outside. Cecilia, dressed in a stylish business outfit, was halted by Zach’s bodyguards at the gate.

Madelyn listened to the exchange from the third floor.

The bodyguard said, “Sorry, ma’am, but without prior instruction from Mr. or Mrs. Jardin, no outsiders are.

allowed.”

Cecilia took off her sunglasses and said, “Don’t you know who I am? Do I need permission to enter?”

The bodyguard remained firm, “Sorry, no matter who you are, I can’t let you in without permission from

Mr. or Mrs. Jardin,”

Cecilia, unaccustomed to being denied entry, became enraged. She shouted, “Open your damn eyes! I’m the Vice President of Jardin Corporation. I come and go as I please. How dare you try to stop me? Move aside!”

Cecilia attempted to force her way in, only to be pushed back.

The bodyguard warned, “If you keep causing trouble, we’ll call the police.”

Cecilia, livid, raised her hand to slap the defiant bodyguard and threatened, “You’ll regret this! There will be consequences for stopping me.

Blake, aware of Cecilia’s temper/wisely kept her distance, and discreetly informed Kevin of the situation.

At the office, Kevin saw his phone flooded with messages, including several from Blake. After a brief glance decided to block her number.–

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
