Oops! I Married A CEO By Mistake Chapter 55

55- Meet him

“Did I do something wrong, Mr. Kevin?” She was somewhat expecting the consequences. But not such harsh ones.

“I am sorry, Ms. Chloe Mason. But I got my direct orders from Mr. Hunter.” He rolled the pen under his palm, “I am in no position to question it.”

Chloe nodded her head. Though she did try her best but could not help it when a tear rolled on her cheek. She wiped it stubbornly and started signing the papers. Abigail was allowed to sleep with whoever she wanted but once they saw me kissing Rafael Wyatt and they could not digest it? She could not wait to get out of here. She entered here to show her worth to Abigail. But later when Abigail was hired on a higher position, she changed her focus to something else. While staying here she had done her job quite well. But they won’t realize it yet. 1

They would realize it long after she would be gone. So, no regrets.

After signing the papers, she gave her purse for the final checking. If in case, she was taking anything confidential with her.

Haha!

Seriously?

They all were so naïve!

Why she would do that? When her minions can do the job for her. She had trained them well indeed. She was worried when she could not get the chance to place the files inside Abigail’s drawer. But then she reminded herself that bride and groom would take an off.

That would be her chance.

Hunter Levisay had an incompetent team. In near future, she would not forget to tell him that. Chloe did not even bother to meet anyone. She had called Kyle to pick her up from the office. When she came out of the building, he was there busy on the phone. 1

She reached to the car quietly and opened the passenger door. “You are here! You look alright.” He glanced at her from head to toe. “What were you expecting? A corpse?” “Gosh! No. What is the matter with you?” He placed his phone before releasing the breaks, “I was just concerned because you are carrying my child, Chloe.” Chloe remained quiet looking out the window. “So… What’s the deal?” Kyle again pinged her a little. “Can you just shut the fu*ck up, Kyle?”

Kyle hit the brakes and slowed the car to a side, “Geez! What’s the matter with you?” “Kyle! Drive the car.” “Chloe!” “Kyle! I said … drive the goddamn car!” She almost screamed at him, “Why are you being a pain in the …” “Ok Ok.” He threw his arms in the air helplessly and started the engine again. “Won’t you come home?” After stepping down she leaned towards the window when she saw him not getting out of the car. “I have got business to run.” He remarked busily avoiding eye contact. He did not want another heated argument. “You used to come to play with my body leaving your showroom, quite often. Why not now?” Taking a deep breath he kept looking ahead trying to control his temper, “Abigail used to look after it, behind my back.” “Excuse me?”

“I said… Abi used to look after it. Now I don’t have anyone.” He was about to hit the accelerator when she announced, “I have resigned from my job.”

She was still staying with Molly working from home for her office. Her meetings were scheduled on Zoom and she was constantly in touch with her carpenters and teammates. Her contact with Hunter was via phone.

She was missing him but she did not want to tell this to Molly. Or even to herself.

In the picture, Hunter was looking at the camera lens without any smile. His face was cold, devoid of any emotion. Abigail did not realize that she was brushing her thumb on her phone screen absentmindedly. His profile picture was damn hot. “Here. Your coffee.” Abigail jumped up when she heard Molly’s voice. And Molly somewhat knew the reason but chose not to discuss it.

Abigail quickly held the cup putting her phone aside and took the sip from her hot coffee in her haste.

“Abigail!” Molly scolded her sternly. Abigail raised her hand in an attempt to tell her that she was alright. But the stinging feeling on her tongue reminded her of the minor accident when Hunter burnt his tongue and lower lip. “Abi!” Molly called her name softly. Abigail had been staying with her for two days now.

“Hmm?”

“Want to talk about it?”

“Oh. It’s nothing.” Abigail chuckled and held her friend’s hand, “You look so much better

today.”

“Yeah. Thanks to you.” Abigail shook her head, “I did nothing.” So many questions were crossing Molly’s head. Abigail spent two nights with her. Molly was almost unconscious during the first night but on the second night, she had heard her friend talking to Hunter on her phone in low whispers.

After midnight when Molly woke up, she saw Abigail fast asleep with her phone still connected on call. Molly somewhat knew that the call was related to the nightmares but there was something else too. Something she did not want to bring up but wanted Abigail to trust her.

She could not advise Abigail until and unless she was asked for it.

They were childhood friends but both of them knew about each other’s boundaries and knew how to respect privacy. Molly kept looking at her while drinking coffee, “Abigail!” “Yes?”

“Go and meet him.” “Sorry?” “Meet him. You cant stay here with me when your wedding is almost a week away. You both need to plan the wedding.” “Don’t worry about that, Moll. We just need one day to finalize the wedding dress and to explain everything to the event planner. That’s it.”

She made it sound so simple that Molly could not help it and smiled, “Then go to him. Talk. Maybe there is something you both can come up with. You should help him to get done with all the office work before the wedding.”

Molly wanted her to meet Hunter. If by any chance Abigail suspected that Molly was sending her to him because she knew her friend was missing her fiancé. She would never go.

“I think. You are right. I should go and see him.” Abigail nodded with a smile, “In fact… I should take coffee on the way.” When Abigail talked about coffee, Molly knew she had convinced her friend. When she saw Abigail being hesitant about something Molly held her by her shoulders and pushed her inside.

“Wear something nice and go. I am perfectly fine. Richard will be here by the evening. Now get lost.” Inhaling sharply Abigail went inside without any further argument.
