An Understated Dominance Chapter 1972 by Marina Vittori

“How dare you! Who do you think you are to speak like this?” Jackson couldn’t help but feel furious seeing Sophia getting threatened.

Initially, Jackson wanted to solve it calmly and avoid unnecessary conflicts.

However, he didn’t expect the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance to be so arrogant. The latter had disregarded Emberson Steel and attempted to forcefully seize Harmony Sect’s treasure.

They were simply going too far!

“You-” Just as the Fantasy Sea Alliance’s member was about to speak, the middle-aged man raised his hand to stop him. “Everyone, treasures are worldly things. It’s nothing compared to your own life. I doubt you guys wouldn’t understand this, right?”

“So what if we do understand?” Jackson narrowed his eyes.

The middle-aged man replied indifferently, “Since you understand, you should hand over the treasure. You lose some, but you win some.

“We’ll immediately leave once we get the treasure, and we won’t make things difficult for you guys. How about it?”

At that, Sophia glared at him and shouted, “In your dreams! Even if I die, I won’t give the treasure to despicable scoundrels like you!”

Upon hearing that, the middle-aged man’s expression turned gloomy. The group of Fantasy Sea Alliance members immediately shot daggers at her.

“Elder Lucius, why are we wasting time with them? We should just kill all of them!”

“That’s right. We’re more in numbers. There’s no way we would be scared of nobodies like them!”

“It’s not the first time we killed people to get the goods. There’s nothing much to worry about!”

The members of Fantasy Sea Alliance shouted one after another.

In their eyes, Jackson and Sophia were just sheep waiting to be slaughtered.

They could still spare the duo if they hand over the treasure. However, Jackson and his team were doomed if they refused their terms.

“Elder Lucius, I don’t think you should be scared of Emberson Steel’s influence. Although they are powerful, they are fewer in numbers. We don’t need to be scared of them at all.

“If we can get rid of all of them without leaving a trace, nobody will suspect that we did it,” a member of Fantasy Sea Alliance whispered. Upon hearing that, the middle-aged man raised his eyebrows. It was obvious he was tempted.

The reason why the middle-aged man didn’t make a move was because of Emberson Steel’s influence.

However, upon second thought, nobody would know what they had done. They were in the middle of nowhere, after all.

Thus, there was nothing to be worried about if they just got rid of everyone.

With that in mind, the middle-aged man puffed out his chest. His gaze turned icy. “I’ll give you one more chance to give up the treasure. I can still spare your life.

“Otherwise, you’ll need to bear the consequences!”

“Let’s see if you can actually snatch our treasure!” Sophia was not scared at all.

Sophia unsheathed her dual blades, gesturing for them to attack.

The dual blades were called Harmony Saber, with one shorter than the other. This was a unique weapon of the Harmony Sect.

The two blades shone brilliantly, dazzling in the light.

“You don’t know what’s good for you. Kill all of them! Don’t miss out on a single one!” the middle-aged man shouted with a gloomy expression.

“Yes, sir!” After getting his order, several Fantasy Sea Alliance members charged toward them.

They were unfazed for having to kill someone to get the treasures, after all, they were in a deserted area.

“Sophia, I’ll take care of them!” Seeing the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance making a move, Jackson immediately charged toward them himself.

Jackson was someone who wouldn’t sit by and watch a stranger getting bullied, not to mention his fiancée was the target.

“Kill them!” The Emberson Steel’s disciples followed closely behind them. They faced their enemies fearlessly.

“Sophia, let’s go and support them!”

Just as the few Harmony Sect’s disciples were about to attack, Sophia stopped them. “Wait! We used up all our energy just now and even got injured. Let’s not drag them behind. Instead, we should just leave.”

“What? Leave?” The few Harmony Sect’s disciples were stunned to hear that.

The Emberson Steel’s members were fighting because of them. Thus, it would be ungrateful for them to leave right now.

“Sophia, Mr. Hawk stood up for us. Isn’t it inappropriate for us to leave just like that?” A female disciple from Harmony Sect furrowed her eyebrows.

“What’s wrong with that? We’re not in our best state right now. If we join in the fight, we’re just going to die. Thus, we should just take this chance to retreat.

“Let’s preserve our strength and wait for another time to take revenge,” Sophia said matter-of-factly.

“Sophia, Emberson Steel has a good relationship with Harmony Sect. Now that Mr. Hawk is in danger, how could we just leave?” The female disciple couldn’t bear it.

If Jackson hadn’t helped them just now, they would have been wiped out by Fantasy Sea Alliance.

Now, Jackson was protecting them and facing the enemy all by himself.

If the members of the Harmony Sect just sat by and watched, it would make them no different from those petty people.

“I’ll remember his kindness. However, I need to consider the entire situation.

“Not only would we not be much help, we might even die if we go and help them. The best choice we have is to escape!” Sophia replied seriously.

“As long as we’re alive, there will be many opportunities. Thus, I’ll definitely avenge Jackson once we get through this and bring the treasure back to the sect!”

“Take revenge?” The expressions of the few Harmony Sect seemed off.

There was no use in taking revenge if Jackson was already dead.

“Sophia, but he’s your fiancé!” The female disciple furrowed her eyebrows.

Sophia’s expression was indifferent as she replied lowly, “So what? I already said I prioritize the overall situation. We should retreat right now.

“Don’t blame me for leaving you behind if you refuse to listen to me!” Finishing her sentence, Sophia turned around and left without hesitation.

After glancing back to see Jackson fighting with all his might, the few Harmony Sect’s disciples gritted their teeth and left.

“Sophia, you guys should leave now! I’ll hold them off for you…” Jackson was still worried about Sophia and the other’s safety amid the fierce battle.

However, Jackson turned around and found that there was nobody behind him.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
