An Understated Dominance Chapter 1973 by Marina Vittori

Looking at the several figures escaping a distance away, Jackson was stunned. ” W-What?”

He didn’t expect Sophia and the others would leave so quickly. They even left without informing Jackson.

Even if they needed to retreat, they should have at least told Jackson.

By doing this, it seemed that they were leaving Jackson and his team to fend for themselves.

“Jackson risked his life to save them. Yet, the Harmony Sect’s disciples just left like that. How ungrateful!” Hiding nearby, Garrett couldn’t help but shake his head in disgust.

“It’s hard to predict what people are thinking. It looks like Jackson’s fiancée isn’t a good person.”

“How pitiful. Jackson ended up in this situation just because of a few ungrateful brats.”

The crowd gossiped among themselves. Emberson Steel and Harmony Sect were alliances, while Jackson and Sophia were engaged.

Normally, they should work together to face the enemy when in danger. They could even create a remarkable love story this way.

Unexpectedly, Sophia had betrayed Jackson without hesitation.

It was chilling how ruthless she was.

“Jackson, Ms. Jaden has already run away with the others. What should we do now?” The Emberson Steel’s disciples soon found that something was off while fighting.

Instantly, their expression turned gloomy. They risked their lives for Harmony Sect’s disciples. Yet, the latter had escaped without a word, leaving them to fend for themselves.

Nobody could accept such a betrayal.

“Things have already come to this. We don’t have a choice but to fight with all we’ve got!” Jackson gritted his teeth and fought even more fiercely.

“Hey! Are you guys dumb? They betrayed you, yet you’re still risking your life over here. Is it worth it?” the middle-aged man scoffed.

It was unlucky for Fantasy Sea Alliance to stumble upon such stubborn people.

“Stop talking nonsense! If we’re going to fight, let’s fight for real!” Jackson yelled.

“Fuck! What a bunch of maniacs!” While yelling, the middle-aged man ordered his subordinates, “You two, each lead a team and go after that woman. The treasure is still in her hands. Don’t let her get away!”

“Yes, sir!” The duo answered. Then, they led several Fantasy Sea Alliance members in the direction where Harmony Sect’s members disappeared.

The rest of Fantasy Sea Alliance’s Members continued to fight against Emberson Steel’s disciples. Even if several people had left, Fantasy Sea Alliance still overpowered with their numbers.

Thankfully, Jackson and his team were capable and fought courageously. At this point, the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance didn’t even fight them seriously.

Of course, the biggest reason was that fighting the disciples of Emberson Steel was like shooting a fish in the barrel in their eyes. Thus, they didn’t find the need to risk their lives. The best choice was to hold them off with their human wave tactic.

“They can’t hold on any longer. Everyone, go and support them!”

Seeing the disciples of Emberson Steel in danger, Grace didn’t wait anymore and ordered everyone to attack.

Instantly, almost a hundred people rushed toward the battlefield.

Fantasy Sea Alliance was stunned by the sudden turn of events.

“What happened? Where did these people come from?”

“Fuck! They’re here to help Emberson Steel!”

“Damn it! Another team of forces is here. We’re so unlucky today!”

The members of Fantasy Sea Alliance grumbled angrily.

They only wanted to snatch the treasure from the Harmony Sect. They didn’t expect Emberson Steel to appear, followed by a bunch of martial artists from out of nowhere.

Not only did Fantasy Sea Alliance not gain anything, but they even lost a bunch of subordinates.

“Elder Lucius, what should we do now? They’re all well-trained, and obviously not easy to deal with!” one of the members asked anxiously.

“What else we can do? They’re more in numbers than us, so we can only retreat!” the middle-aged man replied in annoyance.

There would always be an opportunity as long as they were alive. Since there were no sort of treasures they could get here, they didn’t need to risk their lives over it.

“Quick! Retreat now!” After receiving the order, the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance immediately escaped.

Before leaving, they didn’t forget to dump a bunch of smoke bombs to mask their exit.

They were quite professional in escaping.

“Don’t go after them!” Grace stopped the envoy team, who was preparing to chase after them.

Grace only wanted to save the Emberson Steel members. Thus, there was no need to complicate things.

“Jackson, are you okay?” Grace went forward and asked.

“I’m a bit injured, but it’s fine.” Jackson took a look at the cut on his arm, not paying it any heed.

Jackson had taken the lead just now and bore most of the pressure. Thankfully, he was extremely skillful and managed to hold his ground.

“Someone come and bandage Jackson! “Grace called a medic to heal the injured people. At this moment, a shrill shout sounded from far away.

“Oh no! Sophia is in danger!” Jackson’s expression changed. He immediately took his sword, not even paying attention to his injury.

An Emberson Steel’s disciple immediately stopped him. “Jackson! The disciples from the Harmony Sect are a bunch of ungrateful people. Do you still want to go and help them?

“Don’t forget that they’re the ones who dumped us and escaped by themselves.

They brought it upon themselves if they encountered any danger right now!

“Don’t put it that way. They were also heavily injured. Perhaps they chose to retreat as they were scared of dragging us down.” Jackson tried to argue.

“Don’t be so foolish, Jackson. They don’t care whether we die or not!” the Emberson Steel’s disciples shouted.

Anyone with a sense of gratitude and loyalty wouldn’t have betrayed Emberson Steel like that.

Even if they wanted to retreat, they should have at least told Jackson.

“Let’s talk about this later. I can’t stand by and watch Sophia in danger!” Jackson was a bit anxious. After pushing his disciple away, he rushed toward the source of the scream.

“Jackson, you fool!” The few Emberson Steel’s disciples gritted their teeth resentfully. However, they had no choice but to follow them despite being injured.

Although they despised Sophia for her betrayal, they couldn’t just look on as Jackson risked his life.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
