The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 983

The servants heard Madelyn’s tone, and their hearts sank. They were afraid she was going to argue with Zach again. Every time they fought, Madelyn would be so angry she could not eat. She would then smash the cutlery. Whenever she was angry, Zach would not be able to coax her.

However, Zach was smarter now. Every time they had a meal, Zach would keep silent and have Madelyn cuss him out. When Madelyn finished cussing him out and calmed down, they could finish their meal in peace.

After Madelyn cussed him out, Zach did not react. He continued to eat slowly while reading the finance section of the newspaper. While reading, he would still put food into Madelyn’s bowl. Madelyn saw the so-called “ring” on Zach’s ring finger and grew furious.

“I’m talking to you, Zach! Have you been listening?!” Madelyn screamed.

Zach sipped his coffee calmly while still being dressed in his pajamas. He said calmly, “Mhm, I’ve been listening. I think this skirt is not bad and suits you. Do you want to try it?”

Perhaps it’s because Madelyn has matured or because of the medication Madelyn has been taking, but she is in a much better mood. Madelyn glanced at the skirt and said, ” Stop trying to change the subject!”

Zach pretended not to hear her and explained to her patiently, “This column is a new advertisement launched by the company. It will feature different high-end women’s clothes every day. Most of The Daily Finance subscribers are businessmen with a certain economic prowess. When they see the clothes in the column, they can order them for their lovers. Besides

that, the daily release of products will also attract women’s attention. Hence, the newspaper sales will not be limited to men in the future.”

Madelyn went and checked the price tag for the colorless gown. It was priced at more than 500 dollars. However, this did shift Madelyn’s focus to Zach’s topic. She took the newspaper and saw the dress printed on it. She then argued with him, “Who do you think would spend up to a thousand dollars for a bland skirt? Have you done any research about consumers’ spending power? This newspaper costs two dollars, so anyone can buy it. However, no man could afford that much money to buy the clothes in the advertisement.

If your company is aiming for the general public, you should consider the needs of low-income individuals.”

Zach leaned into his seat and stared at Madelyn intently. After hearing her analysis, he asked, “So you have a better suggestion?”

Madelyn continued, “You can have some items that anyone could afford. This would attract the public’s attention. You can add some discounted items every week. Besides that, due to the rapid development of technology, newspapers will soon become outdated. The public will be using phones to shop in the future. Rarely would anyone continue to buy these papers. Hence, they will be eliminated from the market.”

“Then which brands do you think can be put in the advertisement?” Zach questioned. Madelyn answered nonchalantly, “I think the newly founded Green Heaven is pretty good.”

Zach lowered his head and chuckled, ” You plan to make me green with envy this morning?”

Madelyn had merely joked about her analysis, but Zach took it seriously and said, “Hmm, your analysis is right. I will consider and modify the suggestion. Then, I’ll have the company execute this plan.”

Then, Zach stood up and rubbed her head, saying, “I really like your suggestions today. Just remember to take your medication after your meal.”

After he finished speaking, Zach left and went to his study. This meal had not played out as expected. However, Madelyn merely thought of it as Zach trying to dismiss her. She did not believe she was truly capable of altering his decisions.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
