The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 974 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 974

Madelyn realized it was Zach holding her in his arms. His feverish body temperature was alarmingly high. He was still unwell, yet he insisted on staying with her.

As Madelyn looked up at Zach’s handsome face, she remembered how she used to love him so dearly. She thought, ‘Zach, why did you hate me so much in the previous life? Is it because I had hurt Jadie? But I had atoned for that sin. Are your feelings for me genuine now?’

Meanwhile, Cecilia, wearing a bathrobe in a high-rise apartment, furiously scattered everything on the table. She roared, “Zach! How could you marry her!”

Cecilia was in a frenzy, trembling as she looked at the announcement on the company’s social media account and the glaring marriage certificate on her phone. She could not believe Zach had married Madelyn.

“I was the one who helped you build Jardin Corporation, who pushed you to become CEO, who led you to your success. I should have been the one you married! How could you marry someone else?!” Cecilia grumbled as she was on the verge of a breakdown.

A middle-aged man emerged from the bathroom. He was tying his bathrobe when he noticed Cecilia’s meltdown.

“That’s what upsets you?” he said, his voice tinged with mockery.

Cecilia quickly composed herself, but her eyes still blazed with fury. She said, “I just can’t stand the thought of him marrying someone else!”

The man seemed to possess inexhaustible energy. His hand slid inside Cecilia’s bathrobe, grasping a soft spot before swiftly pulling her into his embrace and sitting her on his lap. He said, “No need to rush. This is just the beginning.”

Cecilia cupped the man’s face and asked, “So, you’ll do it?”

“Of course.”

Cecilia put down her phone and instantly smiled. She began to respond to the man’s teasing touches, moving in sync with him. The atmosphere quickly turned sensual.

Zach’s remarriage became the talk of the city overnight. On the company’s app, BuzzForum, everyone was discussing it. They were digging into Madelyn, the new Mrs. Jardin’s past. Unlike the quiet union with Yvonne, Zach’s marriage to Madelyn was a public spectacle.

At the company, Kevin became the mainstay with Zach being absent, fielding endless media inquiries about Zach and Madelyn’s wedding date. Some paparazzi had even camped outside the company. The spectacle was almost akin to celebrity gossip in the entertainment industry. Kevin set aside the paperwork requiring Zach’s signature while managing other decisions on his own at the same time.

“Blake, get me coffee,” Kevin called out, momentarily forgetting that the chatty woman had left with Zach, Kevin had missed Blake’s constant chatter, which had become a familiar background noise.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
