The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 962 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 962

It was snowing heavily on the road. The air conditioning in the car was set to a comfortable temperature. Kevin looked at the rearview mirror worriedly, “We’ll bring Ms. Jent back. Mr. Jardin, you’re still sick. You don’t need to go on this trip personally.”

Zach was unconscious for a while. He wanted to find Madelyn as soon as he woke up. Fortunately, they could finally trace Madelyn’s address.

The hotel’s landlady lied. But under Zach’s people’s coercion and temptation, she finally told the truth. The police could not do anything to her, but it did not mean Zach’s people could not.

Zach was never a good person. After he found out that Madelyn was drugged and sent to the club by the hotel’s landlady, she merely had her fingers broken and was sent to the police station. If this had happened in the past, Zach would never have allowed her to live.

After the court’s decision, she would have a hard time in prison. Other than that, the police took the opportunity to crack down on this human trafficking issue. The perpetrators would force the women to engage in prostitution and use them to gather people to gamble by taking their nude photos. These charges were enough to bring the human traffickers down.

“I’m fine.” Zach coughed a few times. It was the holiday season, and everyone was rushing back to the city. So, the roads were congested.

In the end, they sent a helicopter over.

Kevin was worried that Zach’s body could not handle it. Zach developed many underlying health problems back when he worked for Hayson. Now, whenever he got sick, it was uncertain when he would recover.

At Southern Haven Villas, Margaret personally cooked a table full of dishes, all of which Madelyn used to like. The maids also dressed up to create the holiday mood.

The entrance door was also very nicely decorated. At Paradise Club, Fred poured some wine and put it in front of Madelyn, ” The last time we met was four years ago. Now, you look even more beautiful than before.”

Eva was surprised to find out that Fred and Madelyn knew each other. When Eva first saw Madelyn, she guessed that Madelyn was not an ordinary person.

“What have you done to Mya?! You knew she was sick, yet you deceived her and even let her get pregnant with your child! You’re just as much of a jerk as he is!” Madelyn took the wine-filled glass and splashed it on Fred’s face.

The women in the private room were all drawn to the commotion. All of them covered their mouths in shock when they saw the scene.

Eva quickly handed a handkerchief to Fred. He calmly wiped off the wine stains from his face, “I didn’t expect you to still have the mood to stand up for someone else.

“No one dared to splash alcohol on me other than you.”

Madelyn responded, “This splash is for Mya. She is very kind and isn’t a plaything for a scoundrel like you. You’re not worthy of her.”

However, Fred dismissively replied, ” She’s just a fool. It’s her honor to be chosen by me!”

Madelyn stood up and smiled sarcastically, “You and him are indeed the same kind of people. Both of you are blindly arrogant.”

She continued, “But now, you won’t have another chance anymore. The Harper family has already moved out of Ventropolis. They won’t come back again. Mya will soon find someone she loves to spend the rest of her life with.

“And you… You deserve to spend the rest of your life in your filthy prison.”

Fred tilted his head and wiped his hands. An unusual expression could be seen in his scarred eyes. He clearly did not care about what Madelyn said. He replied, “Compared to Cecilia Samford, I actually prefer you. Now, I’d like to taste you.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
