The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 957

Kevin rebuked, “But we still need you to come in and handle the business affairs!”

“I told you to find her!” Zach shouted.

Kevin pursed her lips and nodded, ” Yes, sir.”

Kai chuckled and commented, “You don’t even want your company anymore. You should’ve done this a long time ago.”

Before Madelyn could eat dinner, she fell asleep on the bed. Until she heard a faint noise coming from the door. A woman whispered, “I’m telling you, this woman is something else!” As she talked to the other person, she raised her thumb. It was the motel owner.

The other person was an overweight woman with poorly applied makeup over her face. She was holding a cigarette while a few men were behind her. She replied, “Rest assured, I’ll pay you accordingly if she is up to my standards.”

“You don’t need to worry about that. If not, why would I call you, right?” The motel owner assured her.

The fat woman gave the men behind her a signal, and one of them immediately lit a cigarette and threw it through the peephole. Madelyn smelled an odd scent that slowly grew stronger. When she noticed something wrong, she felt her limbs go weak. Madelyn stared at the smoke outside and tried to open the window while covering her nose and mouth. Just as she got off the bed, her legs gave away, and she crashed to the floor.

After the cigarette stopped burning, the man peeped through the peephole and said, “It’s done, Ms. Maple. The woman has lost consciousness.”

“Open the door and go in,” the fat woman, Laura Maple, said. The man forced open the lock, but the door would not budge.

“She has good danger awareness and blocked the door from the inside. I can’t open the door,” he said. Laura gave a cold chuckle and said, Then break the door down.”

The motel owner exclaimed, “No! I just installed that door!”

“Don’t worry, we’ll compensate you for the door,” Laura said. The man quickly kicked the door several times, and the furniture moved slightly.

Madelyn was still holding onto her consciousness. She tried hard to open her eyes and saw the people who entered the room, but she had not a single ounce of strength in her body.

The man in front knelt down and pinched Madelyn’s face. He said in amazement, “Damn, I’ve never seen such a beautiful woman before. Her face and figure are top-of-the-line. The ten thousand dollars is all yours.”

The man eyed Madelyn lustfully and then immediately carried her away. He walked ahead through the quiet alley and put Madelyn, who had lost consciousness, into a car. A few seconds later, a group of police went into the motel for a search.

“My god, Ms. Maple. This woman is amazing!” The man exclaimed. Laura glared at him and said, “You interested? Even if you’re interested, you can’t do anything to her. She’ll be our ace.”

“I always get my first taste of the goods. Why can’t I do it this time? She obviously looks like used goods!” The man argued. He then sniffed Madelyn’s body lustfully.

Then, Laura started rummaging through Madelyn’s bag. Besides an ID card, there was a large pile of cash totaling eight thousand dollars. It seemed like she had really made a good profit today. After Laura took the money, she eyed Madelyn’s bag and had never seen such a brand before.

‘Which godforsaken knock-off brand is this?’ Laura thought.

She did not fancy it, so she threw it into the backseat. She did not know that everything Madelyn wore was tailor- made for her. Just the bag would have been worth at least a million dollars.

Later, Madelyn was woken up by a bucket of cold water. When she woke up, she saw a big fat face. The owner of the fat face seemed to be around forty years old. It was Laura. Then, Laura asked, “You awake?”

Madelyn endured the cold water and sat up against the wall. She saw that her hands were shackled while her legs were chained to a pillar.

“What are you trying to do?” Madelyn asked. Her voice was weak because the effects of the drugs were still lingering.

“We don’t want to do anything. We just want you to behave, or it would be a waste to that pretty face of yours. You don’t seem to be wearing any expensive brands. If you want to earn some cash, I can help you. I can guarantee you will make more than you could ever count, especially for young girls like you. You should take care of yourself and earn some money for your parents,” Laura said.

Madelyn’s face was held between the woman’s hand as she examined Madelyn. The more Laura looked, the more envious she grew. Sadly, she had grown old. If she had Madelyn’s face, she would have thrived and been able to force any men to their knees.

‘Earning money?’ Madelyn thought. It was the funniest joke she’d ever heard of. Laura continued, “Do you see the other girls locked up here? If you don’t behave, you’ll end up just like them.”

Madelyn stared at each cage. The girls were all injured, and some were lying half dead on the ground. A man walked out of the cage while tucking his pants as the abused girl cried while trembling.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
