The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 946

Madelyn’s return to the studio surprised Clement. Everyone was captivated by her looks when she suddenly came into the studio. She looked very elegant, and she exuded a unique aura, looking gorgeous and fair. People there could not help but stare at Madelyn.

Clement and Dorian saw Madelyn as soon as they walked out of the conference room after finishing the meeting. Coincidentally, the receptionist was approaching them.

Clement raised his hand to interrupt the receptionist and said, “It’s okay, I know her.”

Madelyn was quickly invited into the guest room. Dorian poured a cup of warm water and placed it in front of her, “I thought you’d never come back!”

Clement sat on the sofa next to Madelyn, maintaining a distance. Madelyn looked around the studio, “I’m Prof. Monet’s student. How could I not come back when all of you are here? Where’s the professor?”

Clement adjusted his glasses, “Prof. Monet is still taking on substitute teaching at the school as usual. It’s been so long since you’ve been here. I bet you wouldn’t have expected there’s a new person in charge here now, and you definitely wouldn’t guess who it is!”

Madelyn noticed a group of people outside the glass window peeking in. Dorian saw her gaze. He then grabbed the remote control on the tea table and closed the blinds, “They’re all our juniors. Some of them have worked here for two to three years while some have just graduated and have only been working for less than a year.”

Madelyn felt somewhat sad as she said, “Time’s passed so quickly. Four years have gone by in the blink of an eye. Back then, I was the youngest junior here. Now the studio’s thriving and there are so many people working here. I bet that relieves a lot of pressure for you two.”

Clement chuckled, “They don’t do much, but it’s fine. It’s mainly thanks to you. Without your continuous help coordinating with our clients, we’d surely suffer a lot.”

Dorian chimed in, “That’s right! Watching the small team that started with just three or four of us grow into a studio with about twenty people was really touching!”

Madelyn asked, “Where’s Jane? Why isn’t she here?”

When Jane was mentioned, Clement and Dorian exchanged glances. Dorian answered, “She wasn’t happy about being removed from the position of studio head. She’s already left!”

Clement said, “I heard she’s now the head of the design department at Jardin Corporation. Her monthly salary is several tens of times higher than ours. But speaking of Jardin Corporation… Madelyn, isn’t the CEO of Jardin Corporation your brother?”

Madelyn’s tone was cold as she denied it, “I have no connection with Jardin Corporation. Hay… my father is gone. Azure Corporation is now being managed by Zach. I’m not sure about the rest.”

Dorian quickly sensed that something was not right with Madelyn. He immediately changed the topic, “Let’s not talk about this today. Since you’re here and our team just got a new project, you can go take a look at it and see what you think!”

Their meeting which started at three forty-three in the afternoon ended around five o’clock in the evening. Clement knew that Madelyn preferred a quiet environment, so he arranged a new office specially for her.

As Madelyn put down her bag, Clement stood outside the office door and asked, “How long do you plan to stay here this time? If you’re facing some difficulties, you can tell me. Maybe I can help you with something.”

Madelyn was wiping the table with a tissue. She stopped for a moment before quickly reacting, “I won’t leave this time. I’ll stay with you until the end of the year. I’ll go to Marisburg after that.”

It was a two-story studio, and her office was on the second floor. She looked at the snow through the floor-to-ceiling window, noticing that the sky had darkened quickly.

Madelyn had hardly eaten anything since she left the villa. She heard someone push the door open while still looking at the snow outside the window. She had almost forgotten how much it had snowed in Ventropolis this year.

Clement said, “Take a break. Stop working and eat something already.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
