The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 942 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 942

Madelyn had yet to see Zach standing outside with a sullen expression. “The woman sitting downstairs might be the future lady of the Southern Haven Villas. Besides, I am your employer, and you are my employee. You will just do what you are paid for. There is no need to care for my affairs. Just do what you’re supposed to do!” Madelyn shouted.

This time, Margaret had crossed the line. She did not know what it felt like to be poisoned by someone you were close to. Having learned the lesson, Madelyn would not repeat it. It was Zach and Rosario who gave her that valuable lesson. Now, she would rather end up alone than be betrayed by someone else.

“Why are you making such a big ruckus in the morning!” Zach’s cold voice suddenly rang. This made Margaret jump while Madelyn reacted calmly. However, she could not hide the disgust in her eyes when

she stared at Zach.

Cecilia spoke softly behind Zach, “I’ll wait for you downstairs.”

Zach nodded. Madelyn met with Cecilia’s provoking stare as she left with her arms crossed. When she noticed Cecilia was not wearing the clothes from the night before, Madelyn’s expression toward Zach grew more disgusted.

Madelyn retracted her gaze and ordered, “Margaret, bring Dalton to the drawing room.”

“Yes, Ms. Jent,” Margaret obliged. She quickly clothed Dalton and brought him away. Then, Madelyn lowered her gaze and hid her face. Had Zach not heard the emotion in her voice, he would have assumed

she did not care.

Zach was dressed in loose black pajamas. He moved his hand to feel her forehead when she met his gaze. She made no attempt to hide her feelings and turned her head away to avoid his touch. Zach’s hand was left suspended in the air. He paused before balling his fists.

“She had no other intentions when she came to our home. I can’t refuse these social events since Kevin is busy with other matters at the company. That’s why I drank a little too much last night. She slept in the guest room last night, and I did nothing with her. If you don’t like it, I won’t let her come ever again.”

Zach continued, “Margaret has been by your side for a very long tirne. I can make her leave if you’re still not used to her. You can discuss anything with me. Don’t ball it up yourself; it’s not good for your health.”

He saw the ring placed on the drawer and furrowed his brows in displeasure. He wanted to help her put it on, but Madelyn swatted the ring away. The ring fell and made a loud noise.

Madelyn ignored Zach’s cold stare and said, “It’s such a shame you don’t have any memories of your past think you’re as filthy and disgusting as you were in your previous life!”

Madelyn looked away from him and demanded, “Please leave. I want to rest.”

Zach did not budge. Instead, he picked up the ring and stared at Madelyn. He asked, “I heard from the servants that you met with a member of the Harper family?”

Madelyn subconsciously gripped the edge of her sheets and rebuked, “It’s none of your business.”

Zach placed the ring back in the drawer and said, “Is asking for my help that difficult? Madelyn, as long as you ask, I will help you get rid of any problem.”

Madelyn refused him outright, “Problem? Aren’t you the biggest problem? You were colluding with Fred while Mya was still in his hands. You could’ve saved her. Yet, what have you done up until now?

“I know you’re just forcing me to compromise! But what made you think I would give in? What made you think that I can only turn to you for help? The more you use Mya to threaten me, the more I won’t let you succeed,” Madelyn said defiantly.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
