The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 933 by Max Charming

Madelyn could not empathize with Kai’s seemingly guilt-free acceptance of the affection. Returning to her room, she intended to sleep alone. However, she woke up in her original hospital ward, awakened by a scorching heat.

After several failed attempts to push the source away, Madelyn became alarmed when she noticed something amiss with her right ring finger. Her face darkened upon realizing that Zach had slipped the ring back onto her finger without her realizing it. When she tried to remove it, she felt it was loose.

In the dark room, as Madelyn got close to him, she could hear the clear beat of his heart. Just as she was about to free herself from the ring completely, Zach caught her hand. He halted her and placed her hand around his waist.

Zach’s deep voice resonated in the darkness, “Go to sleep. We’ll go home after we get the medical report tomorrow.”

Zach seemed resolved to prevent her from taking off the ring again. Recently, Madelyn had noticed the simple band he consistently wore on his ring finger, modest in design yet ever-present.

Kevin’s words from Madelyn’s hospital admission day echoed in her mind, “I’ve served him for many years, and I truly despise those pampered rich daughters. If possible, I’d rather have Mr. Jardin marry Ms. White instead of watching him slowly fall for his enemy’s daughter.

“All the reparations and atonements he wanted to make have been paid off. I know you’ve been troubled by the affairs with the Arnold family. I can swear on my life that Mrs. Arnold Sr.’s death has nothing to do with Mr. Jardin. Even Mr. Arnold’s…

“At first, Mr. Jardin indeed planned to eradicate the Arnold family to prevent Mr. Arnold from using the Young family to make a comeback. But in the end, considering your feelings, Mr. Jardin didn’t lay a hand on Mr. Arnold.

“As to why the plane crashed, we don’t know. If it were before, Mr. Jardin could have acted on his own volition. With his status now, he wouldn’t need to consider your feelings at all. He could easily deal with anyone.

“For your sake, he has backed off time and time again. Even the engagement with Ms. Young, I think  you’ve seen the newspaper articles about the press conference. All his words… They were all his sincere sentiments.

“He’s never bought any rings for Ms. Young because, before you, he never thought about marriage, let alone having children.”

Madelyn mulled over the paradox, ‘If Zach never wanted marriage or children, why did he marry me? If his love was genuine, why couldn’t I feel it? All I’ve ever known is pain. He asked me to terminate my pregnancy because he desired a son. Then he discarded me, left me languishing here, only to show off Cecilia and their son to the world.

‘Zach, no matter how many people you persuade, no crafted image can erase the harsh reality I’ve endured. I won’t be swayed by hearsay. My trust lies only in my own experiences!’ Madelyn’s resolve hardened.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
