The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 893

Mya’s hair was all messy from running around. She clutched the bunny plushie’s ears in her hand, and her cute face looked really scared. She rushed up to Fred while he just stood there. Grabbing onto his belt, she hid behind him. Fred was surprised and tried to stretch out his arm, but Mya peeked out from under it, holding onto his clothes tight.

“Fred,” Mya said, “bad guys caught me, and they wanted to bully me just now.”

The officers behind Fred looked tense. When Mya called Fred by his name, they frowned in dissatisfaction, all staring at her. If Mya was a normal person, she might have been scared, but she wasn’t. Not only did she look fearless, but she also seemed clueless about it all.

“Tell me, who bullied you?” Fred asked while looking at her. His question made the faces of the servants in the hall turn pale.

The servants hurried over and knelt down beside them. One of them explained, “Mr. Turner, Ms. Harper came downstairs looking all messy and without her shoes. We did all this for her own good, sir.”

“Without shoes?” Fred questioned, glancing back. Mya’s feet were bare, and she glanced at him nervously. Thinking he might be upset, she quickly let go of his waist and started rubbing her hands together.

Fred turned around and carried her princess-style before walking into the living room. “You can’t even keep watch of a person, so there’s no point keeping any of you,” Fred commented.

However, his comment had decided their fate. All the servants were shocked and begged, “Mr. Turner… No…

“Mr. Turner…” Another servant pleaded. They were then dragged off with their mouths covered. The servants were around their twenties.

Mya looked back curiously and saw that everyone had disappeared. When Fred brought her to the couch, Mya sat on the couch restlessly. She surveyed her surroundings while asking, “Fred, why am I here? Where are my parents? I want to go home, so can you send me home?”

‘This place is huge and beautiful! It’s as beautiful as Madelyn’s house. It just doesn’t smell as nice as her house,’ Mya thought simultaneously.

Fred pulled her back and sat her on his lap. He asked her, “You don’t like it here?”

Mya was uncomfortable by his hugging and disliked the odor he had on him. Mya rose from his arms and said, “I want to be with my parents. They’ll be worried for me if I don’t return home.”

Fred assured her, “I’ve already told them about you coming over.”

“Really? Then can I stay for a few more days?” Mya asked.

“Of course, “Fred replied. He looked like a delighted predator that had caught its prey. Then, Mya sat back on the sofa while staring at the bizarre items around them. She asked him, “Is this your house, Fred?”

Fred answered her question patiently, ” You like it? If you like it… I permit you to continue to stay here.”

Mya shook her head and replied, “I’ll stay for a few days. My mom said I can’t accept anything that isn’t mine. Staying too long at someone else’s house is not good too.”

Fred gave a mysterious smile. His hand grazed her waist through her thin clothing as he asked, “Then how about I let Madelyn come and keep you company for a few days?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
