The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 885

Feeling a bit down, Mya walked across the crosswalk with a bunch of people when the traffic light turned green. She had a stylish purse with pearls on it, and she seemed lost in her thoughts, thinking hard. ‘What would I do if I’m really pregnant?’

On the same street not far from her, a car was also waiting for the traffic light. Fred’s deputy spotted Mya in the crowd and nudged Fred. “Sir, look, it’s Ms. Harper.”

Fred quickly located Mya in the crowd. She was small and slim, not especially standing out-easy to miss in a sea of regular folks. He had never paid much attention to regular-looking ladies before, but there was something about Mya that intrigued him.

Mya was the only one brave enough to toss his clothes out the window. Even though Fred usually didn’t like that kind of bold behavior, Mya’s rebellious side was kind of interesting. To Fred, Mya was not like the women he usually fooled around with. She was special- like a pet he wanted to keep. A bit of teasing wouldn’t do any harm, he thought.

Not knowing she had eyes on her, Mya stood shivering at the bus stop, her hands buried in her teddy bear scarf. She only noticed the car when Fred’s deputy asked, “Ms. Harper, where are you headed?”

Stunned, Mya stared for a moment before turning abruptly and bolting away. Despite not being a regular exerciser, she was surprisingly swift. Fred, finding amusement in the chase, told the driver to follow at a leisurely pace, always keeping a few yards’ distance.

When Mya finally slowed down, Fred’s car pulled up beside her. Stepping out, Fred picked her up and placed her in the backseat. Her face turned red as she was trying to catch her breath. She pounded on the car window, insisting,” I want to go home, let me out!”

Unfazed, Fred retrieved a bottle of water from the car. As he unscrewed the cap, he advised, “Catch your breath first.”

Mya hesitated, fearing a repeat of their last encounter. She instinctively covered her stomach.

“A stomachache?” Fred inquired, his tone turning icy.

“Don’t touch me,” Mya retorted.

“We’re heading to the hospital,” Fred ordered, his eyes clouding over. Panicked, Mya objected, “No, I don’t want to go to the hospital. I want to go home!”

“Ah! My stomach!” Mya shrieked suddenly, clutching her belly and curling up.

Fred reached out to touch Mya’s stomach, but she slapped his hand away. She said, “Don’t touch me. My mother said… never to let strangers touch me.”

‘How long has it been?’ Fred thought to himself, ‘I could clearly see a softness forming around her belly, even through her clothes.’

“Like I’ve never touched you before,” Fred growled, his facial scar making him look even more menacing. “Lift your shirt!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
