The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 875 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 875

Margaret had just fed Dalton some milk. He looked drowsy as he happily leaned on Madelyn’s shoulder.

Upon noticing that Dalton was sleepy, Madelyn took out a shopping card, that she had not used for a long time, from her wallet and handed it to Mya, “He gave me this shopping card, and I rarely use it.”

Mya waved her hand to reject it, “No need. Actually, I came out with you this time to relax with you. Moreover, you’ve already made me very happy by buying all these beautiful clothes for me.”

At the entrance, Mya tiptoed and hugged Madelyn lightly, “If you miss me, just call me and I’ll come to be with you right away.

Madelyn responded, “Sure. I’ve already arranged a car for you. Send me a text when you’re home.”

Mya let go of her and nodded, “Okay.”

The bodyguards put the stuff in the trunk. Mya then got in the car and left. Just when Madelyn was about to leave too, a luxury Rolls-Royce pulled up next to her.

Before Kevin could get out of the car to open the door for Zach, Zach had already gotten out of the car. Madelyn thought, ‘Zach knew I was shopping at the mall. But I didn’t think he’d still come over at this hour.’ Zach took Dalton from Madelyn’s arms, “Why didn’t you call me when you wanted to go home?”

Madelyn coldly looked at him, “I didn’t want to disturb you. Let’s go back now.” Her words and tone sounded distant.

At that moment, a girl in a mini skirt got out of a taxi not far away, “Mr. Jar…” She did not say the latter part of Zach’s last name, as she noticed Madelyn beside him. She was blown away by how elegant Madelyn looked, with a sort of otherworldly beauty.

Kevin noticed the girl too. He was anxious as he thought, ‘Oh no, why’d she follow us?’

He then nervously looked at Madelyn, but it seemed like Madelyn had not noticed the girl.

After working for Zach for so long, Kevin knew how to handle certain situations. When he was about to get out of the car to handle the situation, he saw Melanie walking very quickly toward Zach. Kevin began to worry.

Melanie stood below the steps and looked up, “Mr. Jardin…” Her voice was clear, soft, and with a hint of caution.

Margaret thought, ‘Oh my goodness, what’s going on? What’s happening? Who’s this?!’

Madelyn coldly looked away and silently tried to leave. However, at that moment, Zach held her waist and did not let her go. Melanie, with unexpected courage, lifted the handbag in her hand and said, “Mr. Jardin, I’m sorry for disturbing you. This is the suit you left with me last time. There’s some jewelry too. The gifts are too expensive. I can’t accept them. Please take them back”

Melanie was indeed rash and completely unaware of the chilliness emanating from Zach. He said, “Ignorant fool.” His tone was cold and emotionless.

As the atmosphere grew tense, Melanie looked wronged and was about to cry.

Zach said, “Kevin!”

Kevin immediately stepped forward, “Mr. Jardin, don’t worry. I’ll handle this right away.”

Zach walked to the car with Dalton in his arms and opened the door of the front passenger seat. Madelyn bent down to sit in the car.

Melanie stood there completely stunned as she watched Zach walk away. She did not know what to do.

Kevin said, “Ms. Bunton, you should have been more aware of the circumstances and known what you should and shouldn’t do. Ms. Jent was even standing here just now. I can no longer help you. According to our previous agreement, we’ll withdraw all our support for you.”

The last sentence put Melanie in an uncomfortable situation.

She responded, “It’s not like that. I didn’t have any bad intentions. I just wanted to return the things to Mr. Jardin. I didn’t know…”

Kevin squinted. He was unhappy with her, “You had a chance just now. Now that you’ve made the situation so awkward, do you think you can continue to stay in Ventropolis?

“You! Watch out for yourself.” To Kevin, Mya was already very foolish, but he had not expected someone could ever act as foolishly as Melanie had.

Kevin returned to the car and drove toward Southern Haven Villas. There were several black cars with bodyguards inside following behind.

It was quiet inside the car. Madelyn stared out of the car window. And after a while, she could feel her hand being held.

“Actually, there’s nothing between me and her.”

Madelyn calmly withdrew her hand, “Okay.” Her response was nonchalant.

Zach replied, “If you want to go shopping, I’ll accompany you.”

Madelyn responded, “It’s fine. The weather’s too cold. I won’t go out again for now. You can focus on your matters. You don’t need to care about me.”

She rejected him completely.

Perhaps Madelyn was used to never asking for anything from Zach.

She thought, ‘Whether it was in my previous life or this life, Zach has never changed. He has countless women around him. The only feeling he has for me is possessiveness. He doesn’t truly like me.

‘He constantly tells lies just to keep me by his side. He’s never changed. He makes me feel disgusted and numb…’

On the way back, Madelyn did not say a word to him again.

Dalton was becoming more and more attached to Madelyn. When they arrived at Southern Haven Villas, as soon as the car stopped, Madelyn carried Dalton and got out of the car without waiting for Zach. When she walked into the villa, a maid immediately welcomed her. The maid was holding a plate of pastries as she said, “Mrs. Jardin, the macarons you wanted are ready…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
