The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 874

The sky quickly darkened, and the night was hazy. At Supreme World, the most expensive entertainment hub in Ventropolis, in the underground fighting arena, at the two highest seats, Fred had a beautiful woman wearing a sexy purple short dress seated on his lap. Her long hair was tied up using a vintage butterfly hairpin. Her face showed reluctance, but she maintained a forced smile. She peeled a grape and fed it to Fred’s mouth.

Fred said, “My people have found information about the person you’re looking for on Truoban border. We should have a lead in about a week. Do you want me to take care of him?”

Zach responded, “He’s just an illegitimate child. You don’t need to deal with him. He can’t cause any trouble.”

After Zach said that, the female companion beside him handed him a glass of wine. He was staring at the fighters fighting below, one in black and the other in red. The one in black was being pinned down on the ground and aggressively attacked by the one in red. The fighter in black appeared somewhat disoriented. However, the referee still did not blow the whistle.

The rules of Sin City stated that before the fighters stepped onto the stage, they had to sign a life-and-death contract. Whether they could come down from the stage alive, would all depend on their capability. And the winner would take home all the prize money for the night.

It would be a substantial sum, but that amount of money was insignificant to the financial backers who placed bets.

Fred rested his hand on the woman’s butt. The woman tensed her body and tried to resist his advances. She was reluctant but there was little she could do. She had to endure his hand that was touching her body freely.

Fred particularly enjoyed it when he saw women’s faces expressing unwillingness and resentment but they still had to appease him. He stared at her chest and moved her closer to him.

The cheering from the audience below echoed through the arena. Fred said, “Looks like you’re going to lose.”

At that moment, Kevin walked upstairs to Zach and whispered something in Zach’s ear. Zach instantly looked gloomy and serious, “I got it.”

Fred held the woman’s hand and put it near his lips to kiss it. Without looking at the situation below, Fred believed he knew the fight result, “It seems like you won’t be able to get those three million dollars back.”

Zach put a cigarette in his mouth. The young girl beside him, who appeared to be only eighteen or nineteen, looked shy as she took the initiative to light it for him with a metal lighted, “Mr. Jardin…”

Zach’s emotions were inscrutable as he moved forward. The cigarette was then lit, causing a wisp of white smoke. Zach exhaled a mouthful of smoke and said, “Why are you so sure that I’d lose?”

He then suddenly stood up and left the seating area. The girl beside Zach hurriedly followed him when she saw him leave.

At the moment Zach left and when everyone thought the result was certain, the fighter in black who had been pinned down the whole time seized the opportunity to get up with determination and delivered a fatal punch to the fighter in red…

For a moment, everyone fell into silence. But within a few seconds, the crowd started cursing.

The match ended, and the referee blew the whistle.

Fred’s face turned cold as he got up and left through the other side. The woman followed him. Once they left the empty corridor beneath the ground, the woman suddenly kneeled, “Mr. Turner… Please spare me. I have a family and children. I can’t betray my husband. I beg you. Please let me leave. You’re influential and powerful. You can get any woman you want…”

The woman then screamed, “Ah!”

The woman was grabbed by her hair and dragged all the way to the balcony. Fred’s henchmen, who followed them, stood guard outside the door.

Fred lifted the woman from the ground. He looked fierce when he grabbed her hair to force her to look down, “Take a good look. Down there is your husband and child. If you don’t obey, they’ll be the ones who die.”

The woman’s beautiful eyes trembled and a few tears rolled down. Her son was holding a bouquet of flowers while talking to her husband. The woman’s husband then picked up his son.

Fred lifted the woman’s sexy high-slit dress from behind, removed her panties, and started the sexual act…

She could only bite her lip and endure it all…

It was eight thirty at night. But for Ventropolis, the long night had just begun.

“M-Mr. Jardin, please wait! Mr. Jardin.” The pure-looking girl held her skirt and chased after Zach. He was walking quickly and paid no attention to the girl behind him. After Zach got into the car, Kevin stopped the girl and handed her a check, ” Today’s work is done. Ms. Bunton, this is your reward for today.”

“It’s not like that, I wanted to say…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Kevin had already driven away.

At that moment, Melanie Bunton quickly took the handbag from a staff member. She wanted to tell Zach that she wanted to return the suit he had left with her last time and the things that he had bought for her which were inside her bag.

Melanie immediately hailed a car. She then sat in the front passenger seat and followed Zach…

In the VIP shopping area of a mall, Madelyn bought a lot of things. The bodyguards behind her were carrying several large shopping bags as well.

Madelyn was carrying Dalton. He was wearing a little rabbit hat which matched his outfit. His fluffy outfit made him look like a small rabbit. He was even wearing a playful little tail on his bottom.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
