The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 810

Maybe the chance was minuscule, but he had to try anyway. He could not bear to just give up on her like this, even if there was just a 0.1 percent chance. Then, Kevin’s call came in, “Ms. Jent disappeared around the border sea area of Ventropolis…”

The car immediately fell silent, then Kai pounded the steering wheel. “What the fuck, Zach Jardin! I told you not to do anything to Ethan, but you just wouldn’t listen!”

Kai should have guessed that Madelyn would search for Ethan’s remains. But the search and rescue team had looked for eight days and found nothing; what could she possibly find there?

The direction where the lightning and thunder had just struck was right at the border. With Madelyn’s current health, Kai had no idea if she could withstand the storm.

“You’d better pray she’s okay.”

The rain continued, and the car kept driving. Kevin arrived just in time. When he saw the approaching vehicle, everyone got out of the car in the rain.

Kevin walked over with a black umbrella. Zach stormed out of Kai’s car and pushed everyone in front of him away. The effect of the drug had not subsided, but he stumbled into the woods while braving the freezing rain anyway.

“Mr. Jardin!” Kevin had never seen Zach in such a flustered state. Zach was walking incredibly fast as if he was looking for something important. Everyone else was busy searching for Madelyn, too.

Kai watched every move Zach made.. Indeed, he had never seen Zach doing anything like this before. He had thought that someone like him would never treat another person with his heart. The night sky was once again illuminated by a stroke of thunder.

Zach spotted a familiar piece of clothing on a branch. At that moment, his black hair was obscuring his reddened eyes.

He picked that up, lowered his head, and clutched it tightly. His eyes were filled with regret and suppressed pain.

“Find her! Even if you have to dig through the entire mountain!”

Half an hour later, they found Madelyn lying unconscious next to a tree.

“She’s here… we found her! Mr. Jardin, Ms. Jent is right here.”

Zach walked in their direction without hesitation, but then he misstepped. Just as he was about to fall, Kevin rushed to his aid and exclaimed, “Mr. Jardin, watch out!”

Zach pushed him away and rushed forward. The bodyguard dared not to do anything rashly, so they just held the umbrella over Madelyn to shield her from the rain.

Zach slowed down as his bodyguards made way for him. He was extremely careful as he crouched down, picked her up, and placed his fingers beneath her nose. He could feel that she was still breathing.

He was overwhelmed with joy at the miracle of finding her. He held her tightly, ignoring the mud all over her body. He then buried his head in her neck as everyone else watched the scene in silence.

Kai came over and paused, standing at a distance.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
