The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 758

Frida scoffed. Then, she told the undertaker to place the urn in the grave and fill it. After everything was done, Zach stood in the middle of everyone. Then, his bodyguard handed him a bouquet of white lilies.

That was Evelyn’s favorite flower. Zach bent down and placed the bouquet in front of the grave. Everyone was shocked by how thoughtful he was.

However, Zach only did that because of her. Otherwise, he would not have bothered doing that at all. After all, it was not easy to hike up the mountain.

Suddenly, it started drizzling. Zach came late and left early. Kevin stood beside him and held an umbrella for him.

“Zach…” Yvonne called out to him. As Yvonne tried to follow them, Kevin reached out to stop her, “I’m sorry, Ms. Young. Mr. Jardin has something to take care of in the office. We can’t give you a ride.”

Yvonne’s face immediately turned pale. It was not because Kevin had stopped her from getting closer to Zach but how Kevin had addressed her.

Her expression turned unpleasant,” How could he address me as Ms. Young in front of so many people?’

She was his legitimate wife. They were a registered couple. They even had a wedding ceremony. However, Zach remained silent as if he also did not want to acknowledge that Yvonne was his wife.

Everyone began gossiping among themselves. It seemed like what happened to the Arnold family would befall the Young family, too.

The rain got heavier. Madelyn was in the extended version of a Rolls-Royce parked at the foot of the mountain, coaxing the baby with the methods she learned from Margaret.

In the afternoon, the baby suddenly started vomiting. Madelyn got worried and wanted to bring the baby for a checkup.

Madelyn only heard about Evelyn’s passing when she was at the hospital.

Evelyn treated her very well when she was in the Arnold family. So, she figured she had to pay her respect now that Evelyn had passed away.

However, Zach did not allow her to. They even got into a fight in front of the hospital because of this.

It was only then that Zach agreed to let her come. She was the one who personally picked that bouquet of white lilies.

Madelyn looked at the dark and terrifying sky and hoped that there would not be thunders. Then, she saw Zach walking down the hill. He had only left for about twenty minutes. Madelyn could not figure out why he came back so quickly.

The rear car door was opened. A gust of cold wind blew in as he got into the car. He removed his suit that was soaked in rain, and his expensive shoes were also smeared with mud.

The spotless carpet was now imprinted with dirty footprints. Zach placed his suit jacket on the side,” Are you satisfied now?”

There was no sign of anger on his face. Madelyn continued to coax the baby. She appeared nonchalant, but inside, she was anxious, “Zach, do you have anything to do with Mrs. Arnold Sr.’s death?”

That was something she had been wanting to ask.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
