The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 757

The doctor sighed, “Ms. Young, I know that this is hard to accept, but Mr. Arnold’s condition is too severe. I can’t guarantee that he’ll ever recover. Seeking treatment abroad is the best option… Perhaps a miracle could happen.

“Many people are diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer every year, some of them would miraculously survive. I’m sure that Mr. Arnold can be. one of them…” but

Frida was convinced, “Alright, let’s go with your suggestion then.”

The doctor standing in front of Frida was the doctor in charge of Ethan’s treatment after he was sent to the hospital.

Frida was still a little worried about whether it would be entirely safe to transfer Ethan to another hospital, given his current condition.

However, if she decided not to transfer him abroad, his condition would never improve.

Ethan had suffered severe internal injuries and was depending on medicine to prolong his life. But that was all the medicine could do.

He could die anytime. The doctor nodded, “I’ve already made arrangements with the hospital in Avalon. Mr. Arnold can be transferred at any time.”

After a while, a maid came in and said, ” Ms. Young, everything we had to prepare for Mrs. Arnold Sr.’s funeral is all set.”

Frida’s gaze fell on Ethan, who was still in a coma. Her sorrowful eyes were filled with sadness, “Okay.”

Seven days later, the funeral took place as scheduled. Frida used Zach’s name to organize this funeral for Evelyn. Many prominent figures in Ventropolis came to pay their respects.

All of them knew why the Arnold family fell apart. They knew that it definitely had something to do with the CEO of the Jardin Corporation.

However, none of them dare to comment on the relationship between these three families. Most of them only came because of how powerful Zach was.

No one dared to offend him in any way. The distant relatives of the Arnold family welcomed the guests at the door. Frida stood at the side. Her hair was meticulously tugged behind her ears, and she wore a white flower on her head.

The weather was not the best that day, as dark clouds loomed everywhere. The atmosphere felt heavy, and the gusts of wind carried an oppressive presence. Yvonne walked over to Frida and said, Mom… I’ve made the call already….

“He probably won’t come. Mom, we should proceed with the burial. It’s not good to keep so many people waiting.”

Although there had been tension between the Arnold and the Young family, they put their feud aside and prioritized the deceased.

Most importantly, Yvonne did not want people to start judging or criticizing Zach. Everyone was already spreading rumors about Zach being the person who caused Evelyn’s death.

They were family. Yvonne did not want to put her beloved mother and her husband in an awkward situation.

After the ceremony was concluded, Frida looked into the distance expressionlessly… as if she was waiting for something.

Suddenly…

The crowd parted, making way for a path. Zach, dressed in a black suit, appeared in front of everyone. The noisy chatter immediately came to a stop.

Zach slowly walked while looking straight ahead, with Kevin and a bunch of bodyguards following behind.

Each of the bodyguards was holding a stalk of flowers. When Kevin waved his hand, they placed them at the gravesite.

“It looks like Ms. Young was waiting for Zach Jardin.”

Frida glared at him as if he was her worst enemy without saying anything. Yvonne quickly approached Zach, grabbed his arm, and said, “Mom, he’s here! Let’s not waste any more time and proceed with the burial.”

“Time has changed. Now, the entire Ventropolis respects you. How could we proceed with the burial before the mighty CEO of the Jardin Corporation comes?”

Zach smiled, “Ms. Young, you’re exaggerating.”

Frida looked at him and wanted to chop him into a million pieces. His son… was killed by him!

She just could not bring herself to forget about what happened. She vowed to make him pay for it sooner or later.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
