The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 712

They were all top-notch professionals in the finance industry. Other than making decisions during meetings, they would also assess project risks to make adjustments in decision-making. Zach put his leg down and stood up, Report on the upcoming schedule.”

“All the unimportant parts of the schedule for the next two weeks have been canceled, except for the overseas video meetings, which have been postponed. There are only a few documents left to be signed.” After Kevin finished saying that, he handed the documents to Zach. Zach glanced at them before signing at the last column.

Everyone knew tomorrow was Zach’s wedding day. The next two weeks were a long break he had given himself. Kevin took the documents back before glancing at Cecilia and left.

Cecilia walked over to Zach and affectionately buttoned up his suit,” You’re getting married tomorrow. I’m so jealous… Can I go on your honeymoon trip the day after tomorrow with you?”

Cecilia fondly drew a circle on his chest with her finger.  Zach responded, “I’ve underestimated your boundaries.”

When Cecilia tried to kiss him, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the couch. Her eyes were filled with jealousy when she watched him turn around coldly.

She thought, ‘Boundaries? It’s ridiculous. In our previous life, we were so close. We conspired in so many things together. ‘Zach, where are your boundaries?’

He walked into the room and saw Madelyn, already awake, lying on the couch, lost in thought. He gently picked her up and let her lean against him. He lowered his eyes to look at her tender body. He was satisfied with the marks he left on her body last night, “Why didn’t you come to me when you woke up?”

Madelyn did not have the mood to bother him. She just got up and wanted to go to the next room to check on the child.

However, Zach did not let her leave. Madelyn just slumped into the chair. Then, Zach said, “Let me hug you for a while more before I leave for the company.”

Madelyn stayed still and did not bother to struggle. Zach ran his fingers through her hair, making it twine around his fingertips. He said, “I hope you don’t go to the wedding tomorrow.

Madelyn responded, “Okay.” She felt anxious at the thought of tomorrow. Zach asked, “Why are you so obedient?”

Madelyn said, “Because I want to save face.” Their relationship could not stay hidden forever. If she attended the wedding tomorrow, she would become the target of criticism.

Zach responded, “If you want to go, you can wait for me in the hotel room upstairs. I’ll have someone pick you up later. I can also give you a surprise…”

Madelyn could not tolerate it anymore. She forcefully pinched the back of his hand without saying a word. He watched her back as she walked away. He could tell that she was mad.

Zach raised the back of his hand to look at it. Madelyn’s fingernails had broken the skin and caused it to bleed. He said, “You’ve got quite a temper.”

Only Madelyn would dare to do such a thing. This was a privilege he had granted her. When he pampered her, he allowed her to act recklessly at will…

Madelyn would have already stormed out if they were not in the hospital. She thought, ‘How could he come up with such an idea? Those unfaithful in love should be severely punished and sent to hell.’

Madelyn had never considered attending Zach’s wedding. The ” surprise” he mentioned terrified her. A nurse had taken Dalton to have a checkup just now. He had just returned from the examination room and was still asleep.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
