The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 709

Madelyn noticed no matter where she went, the baby would just keep staring at her. And when she did not pay attention to him, he would laugh to get her attention. A nurse came to do a checkup on the baby. His current condition was stable without any problems.

Madelyn hand-washed those newly bought clothes before using a dryer so the child could wear them when he got better.

She then checked the time and realized it was already almost eleven o’clock at night. She dried her hands before walking over to look at the child. He was already asleep.

There was a companion bed in the ward. Madelyn left a lamp switched on before sleeping beside the child.

Past two in the morning, the ward’s door was pushed open. Zach felt for the switch on the wall. But when he saw Madelyn was sleeping, he did not turn on the light. Instead, he walked toward her with the help of the dim light. When he noticed the baby next to her, he merely glanced at him before looking away.

Madelyn was sleeping very soundly. She did not hear his approaching footsteps. When she felt the movements and his hot body pressed against her, accompanied by an unpleasant smell of tobacco and alcohol, Madelyn could not help but open her eyes, “Don’t wake him up.”

Upon seeing her awake, Zach started touching her. He lifted her long dress with his rough, hot palm and touched her fair, long thigh. When she realized what he intended to do, Madelyn used her hand to stop his next move. He said, “You must be tired after caring for him all day.”

Madelyn pushed the drunken Zach away. She sat up, adjusted her dress, and responded, “Get some rest now! I’ll sleep on the sofa outside.”

The VIP ward here was like an ordinary residential property, equipped with everything. Madelyn felt a little thirsty, so she went to the living room to pour a glass of water.

When she raised the glass to take a sip, Zach suddenly walked over and put his arms around her waist to hug her. She almost spilled the water. Zach brushed her long hair to one side and kissed her neck, “You look better with your previous long hair.”

Zach appeared different today. He seemed very happy. Madelyn responded, “Can you let me finish drinking my water?”

Zach stopped his actions as soon as he heard her words. Madelyn was surprised, ‘Why’s he being so nice tonight?’

After Madelyn drank half of it, Zach took the glass away. He then drank from the same spot she drank. She said, “Don’t annoy me as soon as you’re back.”

Madelyn then walked past him. Zach pulled her back, carried her, and walked to the couch. He placed her on his lap and said, ” Have you thought about what name to give the child?”

Madelyn replied, “This is your child. You should make the decision. You don’t need to ask me.” She was unable to get up from his grip, so she decided not to struggle.

Zach’s eyes were very dark. He stared at her intensely and said, “When ‘ll you take my words seriously? Madelyn, you won’t benefit from provoking me.”

Madelyn sneered as she stared at him, You’re talking about this with me in the middle of the night; isn’t it the wrong timing? Can’t we discuss it tomorrow?

“You’ve had too much to drink. You should get some rest now.” Zach did not intend to let her go, “If you don’t want to talk, let’s do something.”

He then removed his tie and blazer. With the collar of his black shirt unbuttoned, he appeared just like a well -dressed scoundrel.

Madelyn tried to stop his actions by hastily saying, “There’s no need to rush to give him a name. You can look for his parents. Who knows, this child might’ve been abducted, and his parents might still be looking for him.

“There are still so many unresolved matters. We can’t just decide on our own.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
