The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 708

Madelyn responded, “Okay, thank you.” Madelyn was a little sad when she looked at the child with tubes inserted into his body. He was all red.

A nurse placed the child on the bed. But after a short while, the baby woke up and cried loudly with his eyes closed.

The nurse panicked for a moment. The child had an IV on his head. But now that he was crying, the blood began to flow backward.

The nurse looked at Madelyn, “Miss, the baby might be hungry. Do you have a breast pump? You can pump some breast milk into a cup and feed the baby. Madelyn was overwhelmed, “I’m sorry, I’m not the baby’s mother. But I do have infant formula.”

The nurse responded, “The baby is very weak. I’d recommend breastfeeding if possible. If not, you can prepare some formula now.” Madelyn replied, “Okay, I’ll go do that now.”

Madelyn hurriedly grabbed some formula and a bottle. A few minutes later, she took the milk bottle and walked over to the nurse, “Is this okay?  The nurse checked the milk bottle’s temperature and said, “Yes, it’s just right. You can feed him this.”

Madelyn gently brushed aside a strand of loose hair that had fallen near her ear and held the bottle near the baby’s mouth. He started sucking and, very quickly, stopped crying.

The nurse complimented, “You seem new to this. But you prepared the formula just right, even though I didn’t tell you the measurements. You must’ve done your homework.

“Miss, you’ll surely be a good mother in the future.”

Madelyn’s hand that was holding the bottle stiffened for a moment. She then quickly came back to her senses. She responded with a faint smile, “Thank you…”

The nurse observing the baby left to prepare some medical equipment. Madelyn sat by the bed and stared at the child. She felt as if her entire heart had melted.

When she gently wiped away the tears on the baby’s face, he suddenly opened his big, round eyes. Madelyn panicked for a moment. She noticed the baby was about to start crying again. But when the child saw Madelyn, he suddenly did not want to cry anymore. He stared at her as he sucked on the bottle. He suddenly opened his mouth and smiled joyfully.

All the milk he had in his mouth was

spat out and remained on his body. Madelyn quickly removed the bottle and used a tissue to wipe him clean. Her voice was exceptionally tender as she said, “Baby, you must eat well to grow up, okay?”

“Ah.” The baby seemed to understand what Madelyn said and happily let out a laugh. She glanced at the IV on his head and said, “You mustn’t move around. You might dislodge the IV.”

“Oh,” the baby made a sound.

“Do you still want to drink the milk?” Madelyn placed the bottle near his mouth, and he started drinking it. He was looking sideways at her the whole time.

She thought, ‘This kid looks weak and a little malnourished. It’s such a pity that a child so young has been abandoned by his parents.’

At this moment, Madelyn exuded a strong maternal vibe. She gently said, ” How about I name you ‘Dal,’ short for ‘ Dalton’?”

Madelyn had chosen this name a long time ago.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
