The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 650

Clement asked, “Were you the person who leaked about the plagiarism…”

A clear slapping sound was then heard from the corridor….

After Madelyn left, she was forcefully pushed into the car by Zach. Kevin sat in the driver’s seat and slowly started the car.

Madelyn glared at Zach as she said, Why did you say those things? Do you know that what you said will cause me trouble? I never even thought about relying on you to accomplish anything!

“You made my relationship with her very tense. Zach! When’ll you try to see things from my perspective?” Zach loosened his tie. He looked at her intensely, “Are you done?”

They stared at each other. Zach looked dangerous as he squinted his eyes. Madelyn immediately backed down. Zach continued saying, “I thought you’d have grown up in the past four years. But you’re still as foolish as ever.

“You were bullied, and yet, you just stayed quiet? Why didn’t you stand up for yourself like you did to me?

“She was clearly trying to cut you out. Can’t you see it? I’ll handle this matter. For the next few days, just stay in the hotel and don’t go anywhere. If you try to run away like today again, I’ll break your legs!”

Madelyn trembled in fear as if her painful memories were triggered.

In her past life, Madelyn did not want to be restrained by Zach. She would try to escape every day when he was not around. Once, she got into trouble on the street and was almost sexually harassed by thugs. Fortunately, Zach saw her when he was on the way to attend a banquet and saved her.

That day, perhaps something happened to him, he was unusually angry. He locked her in the room. For three days, he did not give her any water or food. If it weren’t for the servant who found her unconscious in the room in time, Madelyn would probably be dead by the time he came back.

At that time, he often did not go home. Zach was extremely possessive. He could not stand anyone to meddle in his matters. If he could not possess things that belonged to him, he would destroy them.

He was still the same in this lifetime. Madelyn said, “I’ve never acknowledged our relationship. So, mind your own business.”

Zach pinched her cheeks and leaned closer, “What do you think our relationship is? Are you my kept woman, or… Are we incestuous siblings?”

Madelyn grabbed his hand. Her voice was unclear as she responded, “We aren’t blood-related! How can we have an incestuous relationship?!

“And I certainly won’t become your kept woman!”

Zach’s eyes were as gloomy as the night. He stared at Madelyn. He was quiet unlike before. His eyes were filled with complex emotions as if he had internal struggles.

He lost his rationality in the end. He thought, ‘There are some secrets that she doesn’t need to know. She  can just become my appendage for the rest of her life just like a clinging vine. She can only survive by relying on me…’

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
