The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 648

Zach said, “Leaking the drawings is considered leaking the company’s confidential information. And you have signed the confidentiality agreement as stated in the contract. If any of you are found to be involved in leaking the company’s confidential information, Jardin Corporation will hold you all accountable! all

“During the investigation, Encounter Gaming will stop all collaboration with your studio.”

Zach checked the time on his watch before dropping the contract in his hand. He stood up and said, “My sister might be a little foolish. But not everyone can bully her as they like.”

Madelyn froze for a moment. Her eyes were filled with discontent, frustration, and confusion. In Zach’s eyes, she appeared innocent and foolish.

The social circles that Madelyn and Zach were exposed to were different. After what Zach had been through, to him, Madelyn was just a girl who had been living comfortably and did not understand the ways of the world.

Jane clenched her fist. She maintained a calm smile as she said, “I hope you’ll handle this matter fairly and investigate it thoroughly then.”

Zach casually glanced at Jane. It seemed like he did not care about anything other than the people around him. He was arrogant. After they left, everyone else timidly looked at Jane.

“Jane, it seems like we’ve offended Madelyn. What should we do?”

“Yeah! What should we do if Prof. Money finds out that we messed up the project he took over and gets angry?”

Someone was still siding with Jane, 11 Madelyn abuses the privileges of being Prof. Monet’s apprentice and having a brother who’s a CEO and doesn’t take our studio seriously. Don’t forget, she hadn’t been in the studio for several days. She delayed our progress. It’s clear that it’s her fault. Not to mention the plagiarism…”

Not long after Madelyn left, the notification sound of a new email could be heard from Jane’s phone. She grabbed her phone to check. Her expression changed tremendously. She did not look happy. Someone asked, “Jane, who sent the email?”

Jane found it hard to respond. Her confidence was drained away. She said, “Encounter Gaming sent an email stating that they’ve temporarily canceled our collaboration.”

“What? How could this happen? What about the money they just sent us this morning? Will they take it back?! We’d been working so hard, and in the end, it was all for nothing.”

“That’s right! I’ve already spent that money. I just paid my rent. I don’t have much left now.”

Jane turned around and looked at everyone, “Don’t worry, everyone. I’ll talk to Prof. Monet about this. He’ll probably have a solution! I won’t let your hard work be in vain.”

After everyone dispersed, Jane went to the corridor to make a phone call. Right before she called the number, Clement stopped her, “That’s enough. It stops now! She’s already left.”

Jane shook off his hand, “Clement, you want to be Madelyn’s bootlicker, but I don’t!! She’s just relying on her family wealth and has a brother who’s the CEO of Jardin Corporation, what’s so great about her? We’ve all worked so hard, and now she’s ruined the studio Prof. Monet founded!”

Dorian walked out too, “What’s there to argue? No offense, Clement, why are you siding with Madelyn so much? Did she give you money? Or did she seduce you with some other benefits?”

After Dorian joined them, other people silently pressed their ears against the door to listen to the conversation outside. Clement pointed at Dorian’s nose and scolded, “Watch your mouth.

“Is it that I’m siding with Madelyn, or is it that all of you are so jealous of her that you can’t stand her presence?

“Jane, is it so difficult to admit that she’s better than us?!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
