The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 625

But Madelyn was not…

“Isn’t she your kept mistress?” Madelyn could feel her heart getting torn apart when she saw those words.

Zach looked at her, and Madelyn continued while staring back at him, You can’t just do whatever you want and treat me like your toy just because I’ve had my uterus removed.

“I’m a human too. I can feel pain. “Would you be happy if one day I can’t bear your torment anymore, and choose to end my life?”

Zach replied confidently. “You wouldn’t do that!”

“I will,” she said.

“This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, and you know it. “If you dare to touch me again today, tomorrow… all you see will be an incomplete corpse.

“I’m sure that jumping from the eighty -eighth floor wouldn’t hurt at all.”

Madelyn’s depression had never been cured. The freedom she yearned for had become her reason to live in the past few years.

If one day her freedom was taken away from her and she had to become his prisoner again, just like in her past life, then her life would be meaningless, and she would simply be living in agony.

Her words worked, causing Zach to slam the door and leave.

The tension she had been feeling inside had finally dissipated. Madelyn knew that Zach might give in for now if she used her life to threaten her. However, she also knew that it would eventually stop working and Zach would force her to compromise and become his pawn.

Cecilia heard the noise of the door slamming, and silence followed. She then looked at the figure lighting up a cigarette while walking toward the balcony. She adjusted her robe and approached him. Then, she silently embraced his waist from behind, pressing her face against his back. ” Stop being with her. I’ll get jealous.

“Zach, you belong to me, and me alone.

“I can give you everything you want, including… a child…”

A hint of coldness flashed across Zach’s eyes.

‘The only thing that he ever wants is a child, right? ‘Madelyn is incapable of giving birth anymore.’ Cecilia thought to herself.

Zach turned around and looked at her with his dark eyes. “How do you know that what I want is a child?”

Cecilia smiled faintly. “That’s because… you need an heir!

“After the Jardin Corporation gets on track, and we grow older, we’ll eventually need someone to take over the company. You wouldn’t want your possessions to end up in some stranger’s hands, would you?”

She cupped his face with both hands as a cunning look appeared in her eyes. Then, she added, “Zach, Madelyn is your blood sister. If news of this gets out, it’ll ruin you.

“She was just someone insignificant to you in the past life. Don’t let her manipulate you again.”

Cecilia tiptoed and kissed his forehead. “Do you want to do it? Right here! Me and you…”

With that, Cecilia undid the only piece of clothing on her body, revealing her snow-white figure. As she leaned closer to Zach, she removed his robe with just one hand before slipping inside to caress his chest…

Out of habit, Madelyn locked the door from inside and slept on the bed after taking her sleeping pill. She slept all the way until the following day, at one in the afternoon.

She was just exhausted.

Before she woke up, she could hear someone knocking on the door several times, all of which she pretended not to hear. She opened her eyes, half awake, but quickly drifted back to sleep after that.

Until she heard the sound of a machine cutting something up from outside the room.

Madelyn watched the saw cutting through the inner lock chain, and the door was kicked open in the next moment. A figure dressed in a suit then came inside with an overwhelming presence.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
