The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 624 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 624

Zach picked up his suit jacket from the floor and put it on the chair. “What’s gotten into you again?” His gaze darkened after noticing the faint redness in her eyes. “She’s just my assistant. You should know who she is.

His words carried hidden implications behind them. Madelyn’s body stiffened. Zach securitized her expression, seemingly trying to see her through.

Madelyn sneered. “What does that have to do with me? I told you to get lost simply because I find you disgusting!”

Zach would never turn away any woman who caught his eye. Ironically, that was the very reason why Madelyn found him repulsive.

“If you’re not leaving, I will.”

She could not bear to become the laughingstock to Cecilia anymore in front of them. Madelyn picked up her bag and wanted to move past Zach. Instead of stopping her, Zach unfastened the metal buckle on his belt and took it off. Then, he put on a white bathrobe before going into the bathroom in a pair of slippers.

Madelyn opened the door and saw bodyguards standing outside. Then, she angrily slammed the door shut.

She had no way of escaping at all. Jumping out of the window was out of the picture since they were on the eighty-eighth floor.

A hint of coldness flashes across Zach’s eyes after he enters the bathroom. There was a pool of fresh blood on the floor, and the shattered mirror fragments scattered all over. He could not help but frown.

In the end, Zach had someone come in to clean it up. After the hotel staff cleaned the bathroom, he immediately left without even lifting his head.

A suffocating atmosphere filled the room. Madelyn sat expressionless in front of the dressing table, and the man behind her had a gloomy look on his face. His aura was so cold that it sent shivers down one’s spine.

…Are you trying to threaten me into letting you go by harming yourself again?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Madelyn said. Zach asked in a cold voice, “What’s with the blood in the bathroom?”

Madelyn replied nonchalantly, “I had a nosebleed, and I accidentally broke the mirror when I was looking for the tissue.

“You should go back to your room if you’re done showering. It’s not appropriate for you to stay here. I need to get some rest too.”

In the next second, Madelyn was unexpectedly picked up by Zach and carried into the bathroom.

“Put me down!”

“I’m staying here with you tonight.”

“I don’t need you to.”

“…Just listen to me, okay?”

Zach coaxed her softly. After the hotel staff had cleaned the bathroom, he had placed some rose petals in the bathtub and lit up the scented candles.

The aroma seemed to have an aphrodisiac effect. Zach placed her on the marble countertop with his hands behind her head. He then passionately kissed her. Her legs were wrapped around his waist, and she could not escape at all.

Madelyn pressed her hands against his scorching chest, intending to push him away. There seemed to be no trace of rationality in those eyes consumed by lust, but there was still a hint of sobriety as he looked at Madelyn.

After four years apart, Madelyn’s youthful appearance had given way to a more mature look, which exuded a captivating and alluring vibe.

Madelyn panted as Zach gave her time to catch her breath. Her blushed cheeks made her look irresistible as her eyes fixed on him, “Aren’t you afraid that she’ll find out about this?”

Zach propped his hand on the sides of the countertop, leaning in to smell the unique fragrance on her body. “Why would I be afraid?” His voice sounded extremely deep and hoarse. As he spoke, he lowered his head and kissed her neck.

Zach was acting like a wild beast in heat. Indeed, Cecilia and Zach were of the same kind. She would not mind Zach messing around with other women, even as his mistress.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
