The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 622

Madelyn did not know when Zach’s attitude toward her had changed. Was it when she had gotten together with Ethan?

Or was it when she was about to get engaged to Ethan? Madelyn figured that Zach should hate her instead of treating her as such.

Madelyn was also unsure if Zach’s attitude toward her had changed because Jadie was still alive, and she did not do anything to cause her death.

Although they had already done the deed, Madelyn never thought that it would make Zach have any feelings for her. ‘Does he like me? No way, unless he’s gone crazy!!

Zach was not the kind of person who would feel such ridiculous emotions or commit to anyone.

He simply did not have a sincere heart. Madelyn knew he was only doing all those things out of his possessiveness, and she just wanted to escape his control. She remembered the Jent family of four years ago, where even her father had been a victim of his scheme, along with herself!

She knew that if she went back, she would just be trapped in the abyss he had created four years ago. Zach took her back to the hotel, and Madelyn followed behind her. She had nowhere to run. There were six bodyguards escorting her.

They walked past the grand lobby and took the elevator up to the presidential suite on the eighty-eighth floor. In the dimly lit hallway, the soft carpet made Madelyn feel like she was walking on clouds.

She had been exhausted all day. Zach took out the room card and was about to unlock the door.

As Madelyn thought about how lustful he would be after entering the room, she bit her lip and said, “I don’t want to stay with you.”

“Kevin, go book another room for her,” Zach instructed.

“Yes, Mr. Jardin.”

Suddenly, Madelyn felt a great relief in her heart.

Zach opened the room door and took off his suit, feeling drained. He was about to turn on the lights when a figure approached him and hung in the pitch-black room. With both hands wrapped around Zach’s neck, that person asked, “Why didn’t you come to pick me up today?”

Her voice…

Madelyn could not help but shiver inwardly. She saw the familiar face and felt utterly stunned. She could not believe that Cecilia would be here, and even in Zach’s room.

She then took a step back with shock and fear filling her entire being. The harm and bad memories Cecilia had caused her suddenly came rushing into her mind. Her heart felt like it had been stabbed by a knife.

“Madelyn, we’ve already had s3x. “In terms of capability or education… How could you ever compare to me?

“If you have a little self-awareness, you should divorce him as soon as possible. There’s no point occupying a place that doesn’t belong to you. You don’t deserve it at all!”

Zach pushed her aside emotionlessly. Celica then put on an apologetic look. ” I didn’t know there would be other people here. Why didn’t you call me? I wouldn’t have dressed like this if I’d known!”

Cecelia had taken a shower after getting off the plane and she was wearing a set of sexy black camisole pajamas. Madelyn saw it and realized that it was the same set that the salesperson had handed to her in the mall earlier today. However, she had bought it without really looking at it.

Zach’s body blocked the view of the bodyguards at the door, but they would not dare to look even if Zach was not in their way. Anyone who knew their place would lower their gaze.

Cecilia looked at Madelyn and smiled, ” Is this the sister that you were looking for?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
