The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 603

As many domestic companies closed, he bought many businesses from other countries. This move caught the attention of international news, and he was even on TV. Everyone worldwide heard about Zach and his smart business moves in just one night.

Madelyn wondered if this huge success was just luck. All these failing companies she knew that Zach had bought would soon turn into some of the biggest businesses in the world within five years. At first, people were doubtful about his choices. But when his name appeared on the list of wealthy individuals, it became clear that he was cleverer than everyone thought.

His name kept bouncing around in her head like a bouncing ball. She felt she could never escape him even if she ran far away. Over the years, she wondered how he had changed, ‘Is the Zach from my past life back again? If that is really true… A cold wind blew, making her hands and feet super cold and sending shivers up and down her body. She really hoped she was just thinking too much.

At the afternoon training, the cafe manager said, “Next week, there will be a big party at eight in the evening on The Caesar Elegance cruise ship. The head office needs help. Madelyn, Lila, you’re helping with serving at the party. After it ends, everyone’s pay will triple, and you’ll get a bonus. If you’re lucky, guests might give big tips too.”

“I’m sorry, I can’t next week,” Madelyn said. She had a problem. “My professor has an art show, and I can’t miss it.”

Knowing that Madelyn’s professor was a famous international artist, the manager, who was also a fan, nodded. He said Madelyn could miss this time. After the meeting, Lila felt disappointed. “Madelyn, I’ll definitely feel lonely without you there,” she said.

Madelyn gave a slight smile. “I’ll head over quickly to help if there’s time after the art show,” she said. She was eager not to miss Prof. Monet’s art show. Besides, the event offered the chance to earn as much in one night as she typically did in two months.

In four years, Ventropolis had changed a lot. Homes turned into huge buildings that touched the sky, making the city center a busy place for business. In this busy place, Zach, who was in charge of Jardin Corporation, was the only one who made all the big decisions.

After a financial crisis two years ago, people did not think much of Zach. But now, he was the richest person in the whole of Ventropolis. The Jardin Tower was the tallest building, with ninety-nine floors in the middle of the city. It made Arnold Corporation look tiny. Below the giant Jardin Tower, a fancy Maybach stopped. The car’s back door opened, and someone with slender legs wearing black pants stepped out. Kevin and Cecilia, two assistants, followed right behind.

As they walked into the lobby, the people at the front desk all shouted, ” Good morning, Mr. Jardin.”

With one hand in his pocket, Zach walked past without looking around. Kevin pressed the button for the special elevator and stepped in.

“Kevin, tell me what’s planned next,” Zach said.

“In two hours, at ten, there’s a big meeting,” Kevin said.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
