The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 596

Madelyn spoke in her sleep, tears streaming down her face. “Please, give me back my baby…”

Zach stared at her, anger flickering in his eyes, “What baby?” His voice demanding an answer. “No! Cecilia, please… tell Zach to give me back my baby. You can have him, but I want to keep my baby…”

‘Cecilia?’ Zach made a mental note of the name. While Zach handled business matters, he also took care of the unconscious Madelyn.

When Jadie arrived, she looked worn out and tired. She wasn’t sure how to face Zach. When she looked at Madelyn, there was coldness in her eyes.

“Is Zach planning to look after her forever?”

Busy with his work, Zach didn’t look up, but his voice sounded irritated, 11 Where were you last night? Kevin said you didn’t come back to the apartment. ”

“Do you even care about me anymore, Zach? Whether I live or die, it doesn’t matter to you.” Zach paused, his eyes cold, “It seems that therapy clinic isn’t helping you.”

These days, apart from some part-time jobs, Jadie had spent most of her time at a therapy clinic. The hourly consultation wasn’t cheap, but Zach was willing to pay for her.

“You want me to be cured, but you’ve never once accompanied me to the clinic. You know I’ve become like this because of you. Only you can make it right.”

“Jadie, I’ve done everything I can to give you the best. Besides material things, there’s nothing else I can offer.” Jadie retorted, “I don’t need anything else. If she wasn’t here, would you treat me like before? Just the two of us?”

Zach put aside his work, closed his notebook, and stood up from the couch, “Go to your room and rest. Madelyn is sick; she needs someone to look after her.”

“With all the servants in the house, why do you have to personally take care of her? And… Zach… it’s not just Madelyn who’s sick. I’m sick too…”

Zach, frowning, ushered her out of the room, “When you’ve calmed down, we can talk.”

“I am calm now! You know I waited for you all of last night? When I couldn’t find you, I went searching. And what did I see? You with Madelyn, in the car, having sex. Can you even imagine how that shattered me? Sending me to that clinic was just an excuse, wasn’t it? So you two could be together without any interruptions!”

Zach looked at her with deep eyes, Whatever I do with her is my business. I thought I made things clear with you.

Jadie laughed bitterly, “I’ve never understood, not once! I’ve known you since childhood. I met you before she did, so why do you only see me as a sister? Do you think I’m not worthy of you?”

“Jadie, it’s never been about that.”

“But I can’t bear to see you with someone else, especially not with Madelyn!” Tears in her eyes, Jadie sprinted out, overwhelmed by her emotions.

Watching her retreat, Zach quickly pulled out his phone and dialed, “Fred, keep an eye on Jadie round the clock. Ensure she’s okay.”

Fred responded promptly, ” Understood, sir.”

Zach had a handful of trusted associates. Typically, Kevin would be the one to manage these situations, but he was preoccupied at the moment.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
