The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 584

Zach said in a calm voice, “Kevin, I’m thinking about the future, not just now. I made this decision for a reason. Just do as I say.” He took a letter from his drawer and placed it in front of Kevin.” There’s something more important you need to handle.”

“What’s this?!” Kevin opened the letter and looked shocked. “A company registration application?”

“Yeah,” Zach answered, “If I hang onto Azure Corporation, Ethan Arnold will continue to target me, and it’ll go under. Since there’s already trouble, we might as well start over. Find the folks who left Azure and ask them to come back. If they do, they’ll get a bump in their paycheck.”

Kevin thought for a moment and then asked, “How are we gonna pay for all this?”

“I’ve got that covered. Just get started.”

“Okay.”

Turns out, Zach had some money from Randall to kick off a new Azure Corporation.

He had been stressing out. What if Azure Corporation went down with him in charge? He knew Madelyn would be heartbroken and blamed him. Plus, he didn’t want to put any pressure on her, except maybe for them to get closer.

Now, Zach had a clear goal. There were things he couldn’t do himself. When Kevin was on his way leaving the Jent residence, he ran into Madelyn, who was just about to go upstairs.

Madelyn walked past Kevin without even noticing him. She went back to her room with a glass of water. Hayson was asleep. She started reading a book about taking care of people who had a stroke.

With how things were going, Madelyn thought she might not be able to go back to Paris for a while.

She couldn’t just leave things as they were. The next time she came back, Hayson, her only family, might not be around anymore. She thought to herself, ‘Father’s the only family I have left… If he’s gone, then I’ll be all alone, like a child with no parents.’

Kennedy heard from Leonardo that she had returned to Venturia, so he sent her a message.

Kennedy: [I know a doctor who treats patients like this. Do you want him to check?]

Madelyn: [Yes, thank you.]

Kennedy: [No problem.]

Just as Madelyn was about to put her phone away, it rang. It was Ethan. She guessed he probably knew she was back.

She put down her book and, holding her phone, walked to a quiet balcony. She closed the door before answering. Before she could say anything, a child’s voice came through, “Daddy, Mommy took me to get a shot again today. Can you blow on it? It won’t hurt if you do.”

“Robin, it’s time for your medicine,” Donna’s voice said.

“Don’t run off!” Ethan’s voice sounded worried and annoyed. Just hearing Ethan’s voice made Madelyn’s heart race. A deep ache spread throughout her, from her chest to her fingertips.

Suddenly, her grip loosened, and the phone dropped, hitting the ground.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
